"Cinder" Carla is the leader of RaD and an Armored Core pilot.

She is ranked 11/B in ALLMIND's virtual Arena.

Biography

Before the Fires of Ibis, Carla worked for the Rubicon Research Institute as an assistant to its director, Professor Nagai.

After the Fires, Carla was one of the survivors and was given the nickname "Cinder". 47 years later, Carla joined a Doser group from Grid 086, RaD, and in a single year turned them into a powerful arms-dealing group, with her as its ringleader, chief engineer and weapons designer. Carla, with other observers, also formed a secret organization called Overseer, purposed with monitoring the Coral's growth, and burning it before a Collapse would come.

After succeeding the mission "Obstruct the Mandatory Inspection," Walter contacts Carla about Kate Markson not being in the ALLMIND's lists.

When the independent mercenary C4-621 "Raven" enters Grid 086 for the first time, Carla organizes various RaD defenses to eliminate them. She only yields to Raven's requests after Raven's defeat of RaD's SMART CLEANER indicated that further combat would be detrimental.

Gameplay

In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, she is an NPC whose role depends on the player's story mode progression.

In the Fires of Raven ending, she becomes the operator for C4-621 to escort the Xylem heading for the Vascular Plant. After "Chatty" is destroyed by V.I Freud, she becomes distraught and orders 621 to eliminate Freud. She flies the Xylem through the Kármán line only to have the command center be destroyed by Ayre, disabling her remote control over the Xylem. Thus, she has to manually pilot a crash course to the Vascular Plant, and set the Coral ablaze.

In the Liberator of Rubicon ending, she becomes the boss battle after 621 turns against her and sides with Ayre. During the fight against "Chatty", "Chatty" finally exerts a laugh to her surprise, and she praises 621 that they finally made "Chatty" laugh. When "Chatty" is destroyed, she mourns him, saying she can't help but laugh. Either way, she is defeated but the Xylem activates a lockout sequence.

In the Alea Iacta Est ending, she and Handler Walter fend off ALLMIND's unmanned machines including replicas of the Vespers, though she hacks several of ALLMIND's mechs that attempted to infiltrate the Xylem's interior. She orders "Chatty" to lockout the Xylem to ensure the ship crashes into the Vascular Plant once it passes a point of no return. However, she is defeated by ALLMIND'S modified SOL 644 along with Walter, who brutalized her AC to the point that all that remained of FULL COURSE was its damaged core.

Arena profile

The ringleader of RaD and its chief engineer, responsible for the basic specifications of all of the organization's products. A specialist in data processing and machine design, and a fount of knowledge with an imaginative genius, "Cinder" Carla has produced a long line of eccentric and fanciful weaponry quite unlike those found in a corporate catalog. Her stated design philosophy: "What use is a killing machine that can't get a good laugh?"

Translation differences

RaD member "Chatty" Stick refers to Carla as "Boss" (ボス) in the Japanese script, which is instead "Chief" in the English version. Additionally, both refer to 621 as "Visitor" (ビジター) in Japanese, which the English script replaces with "Tourist."

Trivia

• Uniquely, FULL COURSE's evaluation data contains messages from Carla, which confuses ALLMIND.
• The CS-5000 MEAL parts are unique to Carla's FULL COURSE in the AC Data presets. This may indicate that FULL COURSE (and by extension, the CS-5000 series) is a proprietary RaD build, rather than being available on the market like the C-2000 ORBITER or C-3000 WRECKER series.
