Overview[]
The 051AO80-AK is a specialised defensive Normal designed by BFF. It is armed with both a gatling gun and a large energy shield which flares blue-green when struck. This shield is highly resistant to NEXT-grade weaponry, although the unit remains stationary in combat and can be outflanked by a fast-moving NEXT. They are encountered in the mission "Clear Former Chinese Shanghai," where they are positioned on the rooftops of the flooded city, and again in "Attack Ateria Ulna" on Hard Mode.
Although unconfirmed, it is possible that the large shield used by the 051AO80-AK may employ Kojima technology, although it may also simply be analogous to the arm-mounted energy shields of previous games.
