The AM02: DENOISER is an Enemy MT in ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, initially assumed to be manufactured by the Planetary Closure Administration. It appears to be the standard autonomous defense within Watchpoint Alpha.
This MT is a tall, bipedal, unmanned mech with large, broad shoulders and a notable "nose," with deep indents on its sides which it uses to hold various long-guns and other weapons for either storage or as an additional hardpoint. Inside of the MTs shoulders are two retractable machine guns which pop up to unleash a hail of fire on opponents.
Although initially used by the PCA to defend Watchpoint Alpha, these MTs are not actually made by them, but are instead refurbished and reused MTs originally built by the Rubicon Research Institute to defend Institute City. This is discovered when the player eventually reaches said city, and finds the original versions of this MT without all their additional armor plating. Although rusted over, they continue to fight and defend the city 50 years after its destruction, potentially meaning they may also be C-Weapons, or that the Coral currently converging may be able to interface with them somehow.
Variants[]
Pulse Blade[]
This DENOISER is equipped with a pulse blade in its right hand, a circular pulse shield on its left, a pair of retractable rotary machine guns in its shoulders, and a twin-barrelled light cannon on the right side of its torso "nose", which triggers a lock-on alert when its about to fire them at the player.
Sniper[]
This variant is equipped for long ranged engagements, swapping out the double barrelled cannon mounted on the right side of its “nose” with a linear rifle, a three-shot plasma missile launcher over its left back, and retains the standard pair of retractable rotary machine guns. It kneels and grips the rifle with its right hand when firing, but only does so if the enemy is at a safe distance. When an opponent closes, it retracts the gun and begins to defend itself with its machine guns, leaving it fairly defenseless.
Laser[]
This version of the DENOISER is equipped with a rapid-fire laser rifle. It retains the twin machine guns, and has a two-shot plasma missile launcher on the left side of its torso "nose" in place of the cannons. It can fire the laser rifle singly, or charge it to deliver a flurry of shots.
Heavy[]
The Heavy variant is the most dangerous of the various armaments. It shares the same basic laser rifle with the standard laser variant, but has drastically up-scaled armor, especially around its body, forming a large "snout" that extends outwards. On this snout are 8 vertical launch plasma missile pods. To complement this are two 6-shot plasma missile launchers attached to large wing-like shoulder extensions. Its final armament is a powerful pulse shield on its left arm to defend itself from threats.

- Laser Rifle (Laser, Heavy)
- Pulse Blade (Pulse Blade)
- Twin Machine Guns (Pulse Blade, Sniper, Laser)
- Light Cannon (Pulse Blade)

- Plasma Missile Launcher (Sniper, Heavy, Laser)
Gameplay[]
DENOISERs hanging in ready racks in Watchpoint Alpha.
The DENOISER serves as the most common enemy within Watchpoint Alpha, and are encountered throughout all depths of the Underground Exploration set of missions. When not needed, they are shown stored hanging in racks in various hangars within the Watchpoint. They are later fought during the mission "Reach the Coral Convergence" with unique models, showing they were originally built by the Rubicon Research Institute, and that the PCA merely refurbished them to defend the now ruined city from intruders. These unique Institute variants are severely rusted over, and lack the additional armor plating found on the PCA variants, revealing their red "eye" and other internals.
During the events of the mission "MIA", ALLMIND hijacks the Watchpoint's defenses to clear a path to Depth 1 for the player character.

Trivia[]
- Although possibly just a coincidence, their notable head shape and use of Radomes may be a design callback to various Metal Gears from the franchise of the same name, notably Metal Gear REX.
- The torso also bears more than a passing resemblance to the GOPPERT-G3 from the AC4 universe.
