ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON has a New Game Plus (New Game+ or NG+) mode, which automatically unlocks upon completing the story campaign for the first time. Once the game's credits roll and post-credits scene has finished, players are immediately brought into the beginning of the campaign at the point where ALLMIND establishes the identity of 621 as Raven, thus starting a new playthrough where players have to play the entire campaign again, but this time keeping the parts, abilities, and resources from the previous playthrough.
New Game Plus[]
The following are carried over into New Game+ and subsequent playthroughs:
- COAM
- Parts
- Loghunt progress
- OS Tuning upgrades
- Any missions already completed in the Replay Mission screen.
- Unlocked Arena matches.
Apart from these carryovers, the second playthrough will also allow new new missions to be unlocked, as well as the ability to unlock "Alternative" variants of certain missions. New parts will also be unlocked in New Game Plus that were unavailable in the first playthrough.
The second playthrough gives players the opportunity to choose any decision missions they did not select in their first playthrough, allowing them to permanently unlock said missions for the Replay Missions screen, and additionally unlock the Ending they did not undergo previously.
New Game+ Missions[]
- Prisoner Rescue: If players acquired the Alternative ending for Attack the Dam Complex, this mission will replace Retrieve Combat Logs for the playthrough.
- Stop the Secret Data Breach: This mission replaces Eliminate the Doser Faction if players previously accepted the RLF's offer during Attack the Dam Complex.
- Prevent Corporate Salvage of New Tech: Appears in Chapter 3 as a new decision mission, allowing players to choose between this mission or Tunnel Sabotage.
- Defend the Dam Complex: Appears in Chapter 3 as a new mission that replaces Defend the Old Spaceport if players previously completed Prevent Corporate Salvage of New Tech.
New Game+ Alternative Missions[]
- Attack the Dam Complex: this mission changes to have a decision point after destroying the second generator, which players can choose to Accept or Refuse. Accepting will cause the player to betray the Redguns and unlock the mission's Alternative ending, while refusing will allow the mission to play out as it did originally.
- Underground Exploration - Depth 2: From the second playthrough onwards, Coldcall will replace G5 Iguazu as the mid-point AC duel if the player either accepted the offer in the Alternative version of Attack the Dam Complex, or completed the NG++ Chapter 1 mission Escort the Weaponized Mining Ship.
- Unknown Territory Survey: From the second playthrough onwards, Middle Flatwell will join V.IV Rusty in fighting against the player if the player accepted the offer in the Alternative version of Attack the Dam Complex.
New Features[]
- Analysis: On the second playthrough, ALLMIND unlocks a new set of Arena matches that players can complete to earn more COAM and OST Chips.
New Game++[]
If players have unlocked both Fires of Raven and Liberator of Rubicon endings on their previous playthroughs, the next playthrough will unlock a state known as New Game++. This unlocks more new missions and features, some of which are essential to unlocking the Alea Iacta Est, aka the "True" ending.
New Game++ Missions[]
- Escort the Weaponized Mining Ship: Unlocks in Chapter 1 as a decision mission as a choice alongside Destroy the Weaponized Mining Ship. Completing this mission unlocks the path to the True route.
- Obstruct the Mandatory Inspection: Replaces Investigate BAWS Arsenal No. 2 if players completed Escort the Weaponized Mining Ship.
- Coral Export Denial: Appears in Chapter 3 as a decision mission as a choice alongside Historic Data Recovery, and is required to progress the True route.
- Eliminate V.III: Appears in Chapter 4 as a new decision mission as a choice alongside Intercept the Redguns and Ambush the Vespers if the player is on the True route, and is the final choice that must be made to lock players into the True ending.
- MIA: Replaces Escape as the first mission of Chapter 5 on the Alea Iacta Est route, leading into
- Regain Control of the Xylem, and
- Coral Release, the final mission of the Alea Iacta Est route.
New Game++ Alternative Missions[]
- Attack the Watchpoint: If the player is on the True route, additional enemies will appear to support Sulla in combat.
- Survey the Uninhabited Floating City: On the True route, the AH12: HC HELICOPTER boss is replaced by Thumb Dolmayan.
- Reach the Coral Convergence: On the True route, after defeating both G3 Wu Huahai and V.VI Maeterlinck, players will be redirected to defeat V.II Snail instead of the IB-01: CEL 240.
New Features[]
- The last 3 Analysis missions will be unlocked by Ayre as the campaign progresses through the Alea Iacta Est route. Unlike with the previous Analysis missions, these special matches are not retained by the Arena section upon entering the next playthrough, and will need to be unlocked by the player via playing through the Alea Iacta Est route
Notes[]
- Selecting "NEW GAME" on the title screen will erase all progress from an existing playthrough. Make sure to only select this option if players want to start over with a fresh slate from the beginning.
- However, any player-made AC-presets and custom decals, images, and colors will be carried over from the previous playthrough into a NEW GAME playthrough. However, players will be unable to use their AC presets until they re-acquire the parts that the presets need, and any emblems earned through the campaign will be lost until players unlock them again.
