Ay-Pool is a Lynx appearing in Armored Core 4. She is ranked #37 in the Data Arena. She also appears later in Armored Core: For Answer as a potential ally and the rank #20 pilot in Collared. Her passive nature works well with her NEXT which has been constructed as a support unit.
Biography[]
Ay-Pool started off as one of the newest NEXT pilots during the events of the Lynx War. It is here where she first saw some action on the battlefield working with Leonemeccanica's roster of Lynx. Given her inexperience, she chose to take on a more supportive role with a missile-heavy craft. After her corporation merged with Melies to create Interior Union, she joined their ranks. She continued developing into an experienced pilot, growing adept in hitting her targets with each volley of missiles.
Quotes[]
- Defeat Wonderful Body
- "This is Vero Nork. Target confirmed. Let's move out."
- "Confirming successful mission. Is it just me or was he disabled rather quickly?"
- Defeat Unknown NEXT + No Count
- "Vero Nork, ready for action. Commence operation."
- "What do we do? I don't think it matters much either way."
- "OK. Guess that's mission complete. I'm grateful for your cooperation. I don't think I could have managed this alone."
Personality[]
Known for her support role and cool demeanor, Ay-Pool takes on a passive role during key missions. Deferring judgment to the leading units, she instead focuses on assessing the battlefield. It is here where she shows her professionalism and experience as a Lynx. While this may limit her success, she has found a perfect spot working for Leonemeccanica and Interior Union. In the near future, she may step up to take a core spot in the corporation roster.
NEXT Vero Nork[]
Ay-Pool's NEXT, Vero Nork is a heavyweight TELLUS model built to act as a support. The craft boasts a heavy array of missiles featuring dual A06-AURORA missile arms and dual BM05-LAMIA back AS missile launchers. These are further reinforced with his SM01-SCYLLA shoulder mounted AS missile system. The interior of the unit has been built for EN efficiency. While the unit excels at destroying slower mid-long distance targets, it struggles against fast, close range enemies. Ay-Pool defers this type of combat to her allies during missions.

Armored Core 4[]
Simulator profile[]
A brand-new addition to Leone's roster of LINX, his missile-heavy support craft is rumored to be have been created for Next-on-Next combat.[1] |
Armored Core: For Answer[]
She can be hired as a consort in "Defeat Wonderful Body" and "Defeat Unknown NEXT+No Count," taking 15% of mission completion compensation per mission. Her main role during both missions is as a support unit.
Order Match profile[]
An Interior female Lynx. Vero Nork features arm-mounted weaponry. It's design hasn't changed much since the Lynx War. A support unit, her craft isn't particularly powerful, but if you can't dodge her AS missiles, you're in for a world of hurt.[2] |
Partner profile[]
Uses a support craft ever since the Lynx War. A professional at operating AS missiles.[3] |
Strategy[]
Ay-Pool's NEXT Vero Nork is a missile based NEXT, which makes her best in supporting roles. In game, she prefers to stay a good distance from her enemies (allies included) as she does not need to manually lock on in order to fire her missiles. Her AS missiles automatically lock on to a target upon getting close to their targets, making it difficult to fight at anything other than super long ranges where her missiles can't reach. A good strategy to fight her is to actually to stick very close to her and shoot her with machine guns or gatling guns, which, with their high rate of fire, will intercept the missiles as she fires them and cause damage to Vero Nork.
Another way to deal with her AS missiles is to trick them. The easiest way to do this is to equip rockets or missiles (scatter missiles work best) and fire them when Vero Nork fires its AS missiles; AS missile have this odd habit of targeting other missiles and propellant projectiles as well, so they will automatically target the rockets or missile instead of your NEXT, meaning you can make her waste most of her ammo with little damage to yourself.
Another way is to make an INFOB-Next and OB all over the map around her making her run out of ammo and then use whatever you like to take her down. The Rayleonard 03-AALIYAH OB unit and the ARGYROS Generator tend to work quite well with this Strategy. managed this alone.
Support[]
On the two missions that you can hire her, Vero Nork isn't particularly useful in the mission "Defeat Wonderful Body". Wonderful Body equips flares, which completely defeats the point of Vero Nork's missiles. This being said, the Hard Mode version of the mission does throw in additional targets in form of Normals, which Vero Nork can dispatch with ease. The second mission, "Destroy Unknown NEXT+No Count", has her support quite useful, particularly in taking down No Count, thanks to her sluggish maneuverability. Her defenses can make her quite susceptible to Kojima Cannon shots from Buppa Zu Gan's Big Barrel, however. The Hard Mode version of the mission feature PQ's Yoroi Mogura, which comes equipped with his own missile arsenal and a Kojima Missile Launcher, which makes hiring her slightly risky in the sense that she might run out of ammo before the three NEXTs are destroyed.
For 15% of your fee, she is the least costly consort in the game, yet her AS Missiles are quite expensive to replenish, making it a hidden cost. In both missions, Roy Saaland is a better compromise.
