Ayre is a disembodied Rubiconian who interacts with Augmented Human C4-621 through the Coral in their body. Following their unexpected "Contact" during the Coral War, she provides 621 mission support complementary to their broker Handler Walter's.

Whereas Walter refers to 621 by their designation as an Augmented Human, Ayre refers to 621 by their borrowed callsign "Raven."

Biography

Ayre making "Contact" with Raven

Sometime after Operation Wallclimber, Raven is exposed to a massive surge of Coral while attacking Watchpoint Delta, and in doing so, unwittingly, makes "Contact" with Ayre, a C-Pulse Wave Mutation, who subsequently takes over as Raven's Operator in their ensuing fight against the PCA's AAP07: BALTEUS. Following their victory, Raven informs Walter of the situation but Walter dismisses it as a side effect of Raven's augmentations. Regardless, Ayre and Raven then agree to maintain Contact until the struggle over Rubicon's Coral concludes.

Afterwards, Ayre formally establishes herself as one of Raven's operators. In addition, she also personally hires Raven on occasion. Compared to the jobs from Walter or the corporations, Ayre's missions typically have significantly less pay due to her being unaffiliated with any faction, leaving Ayre to use her abilities to electronically send whatever funds she can scrounge up. The requests themselves offer Raven insight into Rubicon 3's history and the true nature of the Coral substance.

In the "Shut Down the Closure Satellites" mission in the Fires of Raven route, Ayre uses an Ibis Series C-Weapon known as the IB-07: SOL 644. It is armed with several Coral weapons featuring two double-barreled Coral laser cannons that can be used as Coral oscillators and fire a powerful Coral beam, vertical-launched Coral missiles, and a Coral shield. The craft is capable of cloning itself using Coral energy and transforming into a jet plane and/or a cannon.

AC ECHO

In the Alea Iacta Est route, Ayre uses a Coral-powered EPHEMERA unmanned AC using a classified assembly made by ALLMIND. It is a white, and light red version of the INSTITUTE AC first encountered in Underground Exploration - Depth 3. The AC uses an arsenal of powerful Coral weapons featuring enhanced versions of the NEBULA energy rifle and MOONLIGHT blade alongside Ibis series weapons belonging to IB-C03: HAL 826, a Coral missile launcher on the right shoulder and a Coral shield on the left shoulder, capable of making short work of most ACs and favors an aggressive approach. The boosters and the FCS are the same with the AC IA-C01: EPHEMERA, however, the generator is replaced with Ibis series generator, NGI 000, having more output (needed for power hungry Coral Weapons) and capacity and giving the AC a longer distance travel on assault boost.

Long after Ayre's meeting with Raven, she pilots ECHO for a fight at LOC Station 31 that determines the outcome of the Coral War.

Gameplay

In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, Ayre is one of the NPCs serving as the player character's mission control.

She will first appear at the climax of the mission "Attack the Watchpoint," the finale of Chapter 1. Afterwards, she functions alongside Walter as the player's primary mission support, and will occasionally offer her own missions as the story progresses. At certain points, her missions will determine the player's progression path.

For the game's endings, Ayre's role will change depending on the path taken. In the Fires of Raven ending, she will leave the player early in Chapter 5 and pilots the IB-07: SOL 644 as the final boss in "Shut Down the Closure Satellites." On the other hand, the Liberator of Rubicon ending sees her continue her role as the player's mission support as she asks the player's help in fulfilling her objective. Finally, the Alea Iacta Est ending sees Ayre in ECHO as an allied NPC for the final mission, during ALLMIND's second phase. Ayre loses control of ECHO once G5 Iguazu hijacks ALLMIND to have one last proper duel with 621.

Her AC ECHO can be fought in the Analysis side of the Arena, available only during the Alea Iacta Est route.
