A NEXT model kit equipped with Bazookas
Bazookas are a weapon type present in all Armored Core games.
Description[]
The Bazooka is a large projectile rifle that fires explosive shells, possessing high damage and great stopping power; it is the perfect weapon for stationary or sluggish targets. Bazookas are also effective against slower ACs. These traits however, are offset by slow muzzle velocities, slow reload times, overall heavy weight, and small ammo loads. The general lack of speed inherent in the Bazookas make them best used at close range.
Bazookas are the favourites of heavy AC's and some aggressive pilots, and exist in multiple types. They have no real back weapon equivalents, but most closely speaking, they are in essence arm-mounted rocket launchers but with a lock on capability.
In Armored Core 4 and onwards, the Bazooka becomes distinct from rockets, instead showing the characteristics of a rifle but with a much slower projectile velocity and large projectile size.
In Armored Core V Universe, the bazooka equivalent is the Battle Rifle.
Types[]
- Bazooka - The most common form of bazooka, they fire a single slow, high damage round that has high stun.
- Spread Bazooka - This form of bazooka fires multiple rounds at once like a shotgun. These generally have lower ammo capacity than standard bazooka's, and typically fire triple volleys per shot. A subtype of Spread Bazooka exists, characterized by a delayed dispersal effect - spliting the primary shell with some delay, enabling higher accuracy at longer ranges. The example for this is the SB-033M MORLEY, a shoulder-mounted spread bazooka, developed by Balam.
- Laser Bazooka - Not exactly an actual form of a bazooka, but the ER-O705 laser rifle used by Otsdarva and Thermidor is special in that it has a slower projectile speed but a higher attack power, just like how a bazooka is compared to a standard rifle.
- Detonating Bazooka - A type of bazooka that fires a special round that creates a chain of explosions. The 44-141 JVLN ALPHA detonating bazooka are used by Sulla and 51-001 K MIND ALPHA.

Trivia[]
- Contrary to real-life Bazookas which the user must hold the weapon in their shoulder, all Bazookas in Armored Core games used by an AC are Arm Weapons, since they are not recoilless rifles (meaning that they do not feature an exhaust opening on their back end.) Certain MT's mount a bazooka in the real-life fashion.
- In the Italian version of Armored Core: Verdict Day, the Battle Rifles are translated as Assault Rifles instead.
- The Spread Bazooka share similarities with the Rick Dias' Clay Bazooka from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Specifically when the Clay Bazooka is loaded with Pellet Shot rounds.
- A distinct but similar weapon type exists in Armored Core: a hand rocket launcher. In comparison to the Bazooka, that weapon category generally trades off the lock on compatibility for enhanced firepower, more in line with the shoulder-mounted rocket launchers.
