The City Police is a unit that serve Father in his fight against the Resistance. For the majority of Armored Core V's Story Mode, they are the main enemy of the game, but are eventually replaced by The Corporation after the fourth mission.
Overview[]
As the main defenders of The City, the City Police serve as the main enemy the player fights during a majority of the Story Mode, where they are directed by their Captain, Paul O'Brien; but are also encountered early on in the Order Mission Storyline. Their numbers largely consist of General Purpose ACs, although several Armored Cores have been encountered as well. Their main advantage is that they have a large number of units, although they are not nearly as technologically advanced as The Corporation.
The City Police's AC unit--the City Guard--has only been seen to use three Armored Cores: two of which are potential enemies towards the middle or end of the missions, the other piloted by the City Police Captain himself.
Story[]
During the Story, the City Police, as mentioned above, are the main enemy force encountered throughout the Story Mode as they pledge themselves to defend the City and Father from The Resistance. However, the City Police's best, the City Guard, weren't good enough to halt the Resistance's advance, with the Raven at the helm. As the Resistance begins to push City Police back, the City Police seek the help of The Corporation, and are subsequently overtaken and eventually controlled by them. After the latter kills Father, the City Police become nothing more than pawns of The Corporation.
Once the Corporation disappears, the City Police are left leaderless and without a banner to follow. By the time of the Order Missions' Storyline, the 'former' City Police revert to surviving in a similar fashion to migrants, attacking other groups and stealing supplies. However, they too eventually disappear before the Raven engages with Men of Honor.
