"Coral Release" is a mission in Chapter 5 of ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON.

It is the final mission of the Alea Iacta Est route, and the last unlockable mission of the game as a whole.

Walkthrough[]

This is a difficult boss fight against ALLMIND that is split into two phases. It doesn't have any checkpoint or resupply, players have to restart if the mission is a failure.

Phase One[]

The first phase is to defeat G5 Iguazu's brand new MIND GAMMA and four unmanned black MIND ALPHA units.

MIND GAMMA is the same as the 51-003 K version, has no repair kit. But in Arena, 51-003 K always starts with a boost kick. In this mission, Iguazu will fully charge the KRSV for the first attack.

The AI-controlled MIND ALPHA units have only 3000 AP and no repair kit, but other stats are identical to the playable version. The two ranged types have no arm weapon, instead they have BML-G1/P32DUO-03 and Vvc-703PM missile launchers. Also they can use a weaker version of Assault Armor when given an opportunity, such as if the player uses Assault Armor. The two melee types have a MA-E-210 ETSUJIN machine gun and a VP-67LD laser dagger, no back weapon. Killing the MIND ALPHA units is not necessary, the target is ALLMIND-Iguazu.

Destroying MIND GAMMA triggers a cutscene that transitions the mission to phase two.

Phase Two[]

A black IB-07: SOL 644 called ALLMIND flies in and unceremoniously stomps on the disabled MIND GAMMA. In addition, Ayre will sortie in her AC ECHO (the classified δ-3 AC) to support players physically. ALLMIND will now be backed by two flying SEA SPIDERS (named as ALLMIND ORBIT), and any MIND ALPHA units left will disappear before the fight resumes.

ALLMIND has 58255 AP, its Attitude Stability is 2050, with balanced defense ability, so all weapons equally work fine against it as long as players can make every shot count.

ALLMIND has a different set of energy type attacks unlike Ayre's IB-07: SOL 644, which uses Coral type weapons.

  • Laser Gatling Guns
    • Boosting in one direction is generally enough to avoid this. In addition, ALLMIND will stand near completely still while firing.
  • Laser Blade
    • The attack is relatively telegraphed, allowing time for dodging or countering.
  • Energy Beam Cannons
  • Transformation (Cannon Mode)
  • Detonating Laser Beam (in Cannon Mode)
    • ALLMIND is completely stationary for a few seconds while firing, allowing players to get guaranteed great hits if the laser misses.

Ayre will occasionally use Pulse Protection, providing a defensive barrier.

When ALLMIND's AP reaches 50%, ALLMIND-Iguazu will unleash a massive temper tantrum, his sheer emotional energy destroying any remaining ALLMIND ORBITs as well as disabling ECHO, the fight becomes a one on one duel with no backup for both sides.

ALLMIND goes on the offensive and now uses near exclusively melee slashes using the arm cannons, now glowing bright green and converted to giant claws. ALLMIND's speed now increases substantially. Thus, this phase can quickly rack up massive damage against an unprepared player.

At this point, going on the defensive may not be advisable, especially for a heavy AC incapable of dodging the giant damaging sweeps. Instead, look when ALLMIND freezes in place or moves predictably to get guaranteed hits on it, and build up stagger as quickly as possible. Two direct hits from a 44-141 JVLN ALPHA will work. Be aware, however, that ALLMIND will sometimes put one blade up as a shield while closing in. Nonetheless, ALLMIND will still freeze in place for a fraction of a second before using many of its melee attacks. As these attacks have much greater horizontal reach than vertical reach, it's also possible to avoid many of them by staying directly above or below ALLMIND, especially with boosters that provide high upward mobility or efficiency.

The mission is a success when ALLMIND is finally defeated. C4-621 and Ayre make the Coral Release plan become real by themselves, leading them to an uncertain future. Then the Alea Iacta Est route is completed.

After all the cutscenes and staff roll, the players will be back to Chapter 1 with Alea Iacta Est route enabled.
