"Defeat AF Cabracan" is a mission in Armored Core For Answer.
Briefing[]
All right, this is your mission.
The client is GA America. The target is Algebra's attack transport, Arms Fort, Cabracan.
Cabracan is protected by a very thick sheet of armor, and is impossible to take down with standard NEXT weaponry. I don't mind telling you that it's a real headache to deal with.
However, the thing does have a weak point. If you can manage to get under the skirting armor at its base, you will be able to take out the tracks and bring it to a halt. That is all we need you to do for this operation.
Frankly, the top brass don't have all the details themselves. What they do know, is that this Arms Fort could become a serious threat.
Anyone taking this job will be well compensated. We hope to hear from you soon.

Strategy[]
Armored Core For Answer Defeat AF Cabracan
First, to take it down, the player will have to destroy the caterpillar treats under the armored skirt at the base of the AF. The treads are weak and can be destroyed quickly, but first you have to destroy a section of the skirt which is very tough. the best thing is to immediately overboost and wait until the AF hits a mine: the skirt will rise and you will be able to gain entry (once the treads are destroyed, use a blade to destroy a section of the skirt to escape the underside and engage the drones).
Following the destruction of the treads, the Arms Fort will release dozens of assault drones armed with laser-shotguns. In normal mode, an allied Gigabase Arms Fort will arrive to help destroy the drones. It will always shoot at the Cabracan itself, and not target drones individually, so the only drones it will destroy are ones that fly near the impact zone on the Cabracan. It will take out a few but don't rely on it to do all the work. In hard mode, it is absent due to mechanical problems.
The drones themselves are not tough on their own but because there's so many, the damage can add up fast. It is recommended that enough ammunition is brought along for a protracted battle. Accurate, high velocity weapons are ideal, like rifles or sniper rifles, or weapons with plenty of ammunition such as chain guns or gatling guns work well. Take your time and use the Arms Fort for cover and to see where the next drones you want to take down are. Some drones can fly fairly high up so be wary of being struck from above. The mission only ends once all of the drones are destroyed, so if you think you've destroyed them all but the mission hasn't ended, check the area again. Over time some of the drones can actually fly rather far away.
