Briefing[]

We just discovered that someone infiltrated a mole into one of our research labs.

We allowed him to move about freely, hoping that he might reveal his true purpose, but he picked up the tail and made off in one of our MTs.

Our security force was sent out after him, but the MT's mobility, in addition to outside interference, have frustrated their efforts.

If he makes it to the neighboring sector, pursuit will be all but impossible. Stop him before he escapes!

Dialogue[]

Laine Meyers:Raven, the target is on the move! Don’t let him escape!

Escapee:I’ve got a Raven on my tail! Help!

Escapee:I’ve served my purpose...

Conspirator:It worked, they took the bait!

Laine Meyers:That last one was a decoy! The real target is up ahead!

Escapee:Uaah...

Laine Meyers:(If Mission Failed)The target escaped. Mission failed.

Walkthrough[]

Another highway pursuit mission. The first target MT appears shortly ahead of you and begins moving through the tunnel. As long as you have effective boosters and a good generator (it's an early mission so many combinations work) you can catch up to him. If you have any hover legs then you are already set to chase down the MT. There are many ways to destroy the MT: a long-ranged gun like a sniper rifle, sniping with rockets (three small rockets will be enough) or just intercepting the target and cutting it down with a blade. If you're feeling confident, use energy weapons but ultimately as they drain your energy, you could easily go into enforced charging mode and get left behind.

There are several other MTs which are mainly used as harassers and should only be destroyed if they get in your way. After destroying the first target, a second one appears further down the line. If you are playing Armored Core 3 Portable, then there is a hidden part, a head from Armored Core Master of Arena will be there. Otherwise don't worry about it. It isn't recommended to do this on the first playthrough as searching for the part may give the target enough time to escape. The rest of the mission is fairly simple, find and destroy the target.

The time requirement for an S-rank is quite strict; you'll need to use Overboost to make it.

Trivia[]

  • The Hover MT target bear a striking similarity to Nine-Ball Seraph.
  • In The PSP Version, the hidden head part MHD-RE/H10 can be found at the second service door, in the route to the left of the intersection midway through the mission area.
