- Withdraw from the deck
Walkthrough[]
The target of the mission is the EB-0309 STRIDER, a mobile resource base heavily modified by the Rubicon Liberation Front to be an armed fortress.
This mission starts with the player some distance away from the Strider in the distance. Several scattered MT squads patrol the Strider's vicinity, and players can choose to either engage or avoid them. The Strider itself will attempt to attack the player using "The Eye", a powerful dorsal laser cannon that will sweep a large blue beam towards the player's AC at high speed, dealing immense Damage and Impact if it hits; a warning indicator will alert players to the incoming attack, giving time to dodge it. Additional defenses can also come in the form of multi-missile launchers on the Strider that will attempt to shoot down the player.
Once players reach the Strider's rearmost right leg, players are tasked with destroying the unarmored section of the leg. Once destroyed, the leg and the entire back section of the ship will collapse, creating a stable platform on which players can jump onto in order to reach the rest of the Strider above. Several machine gun turrets line the walls of the collapsed section, and players can once again choose to engage or destroy them. Players should avoid being close or below the leg once it's destroyed, as its collapse can instantly destroy the player's AC by burying it. Players also have a limited amount of time to reach the Strider's middle deck, as the Strider is constantly moving and can leave the destroyed section behind far enough to make the player's AC unable to reach the Strider, thus failing the mission.
On the Strider, the player needs to find and destroy four sub-generators that power The Eye's impenetrable shield: one at the bottom section of the ship, one on the port (left) side, one on the starboard (right) side, and the last at the very top in direct line of sight of The Eye. These generators appear as large drums emitting yellow light, and can be taken out using any weapon. To aid in mobility, there are four vertical catapults installed near the bottom of the ship, one on each side support boom on the rear side, and one on each platform in front of the bottom sub-generator. A handful of machine guns line the sides of the ship providing minimal threat to the player, however The Eye will also attempt to shoot down the player by firing a large spread of lasers to the side of the ship. Fortunately the Strider itself provides cover against The Eye's attacks, so long as the players stick to the sides of the ship. The mission also fails if the Player AC is destroyed.
Upon destroying all sub-generators The Eye becomes exposed, and players must directly attack and destroy The Eye on top of the ship. The Eye will use its spread lasers to defend itself, though its slow turning speed and long recharge rate means its attacks should be easy enough to avoid. Occasionally, The Eye will also launch a salvo of missiles to deter the player, as well as a surprise Assault Armor attack. Once the Eye is destroyed the Strider will begin exploding, at which point players must evacuate the ship and get as far away from it as possible. The mission ends once the Strider has collapsed onto itself and the player has reached a safe distance away from it.

| Briefing | Handler Walter: Got a job for you, 621. This one's a request from the Arquebus Group. Arquebus Corporation: Raven. This request comes from Schneider, an Arquebus subsidiary. The mission will take place in the Bona Dea Dunes of western Belius. Our Coral investigation there is being blocked by the STRIDER, a Rubicon Liberation Front mining ship. You are to destroy it. The STRIDER is a mobile resource base that was extensively weaponized by the Liberation Front. Call it the crowning glory of their efforts to militarize into an anti-corporate force. Your attack will focus on the Eye, a giant laser cannon connected directly to the main generator. It's protected by a shield, which is powered by auxiliary sub-generators. These should be your first targets. This concludes the briefing. Good luck. |

| Post-mission conversation (If "Attack the Dam Complex" has been completed) | V.II Snail: You must be the handler, I presume? For the independent mercenary Raven. Handler Walter: Honored to make your acquaintance, V.II Snail. V.II Snail: I understand you want to join Operation Wallclimber? You do realize that disposing of some Liberation Front garbage hardly qualifies you. Know your place, you meager dog sitter. The answer is no. Handler Walter: I hear you're deploying V.I again. Must be rough only having one good pilot to rely on. V.II Snail: Oh? Are you suggesting your dog can take Freud's place? Handler Walter: You'll see. Just give us the chance. V.II Snail: ...Very well, then. We're also deploying V.IV... ...who's been equally brazen of late. Let's see how they both perform. |

| Debriefing | COM: One new message. Arquebus Corporation: Raven. Your work on the STRIDER deserves commendation. I am thrilled to have issued you the request. Allow me to introduce myself. I am the Arquebus Group's mercenary liaison... V.VIII Pater, at your service. V.VIII Pater: I think I'll enjoy doing business with you. |

Notes[]
- While this mission is typically a mandatory mission, on New Game++ provided the player has unlocked the requirements to initiate the Alea Iacta Est Ending, another mission entitled "Escort the Weaponized Mining Ship" will appear alongside this one. Players are given the choice of choosing either this mission or the other, which will lock them out of the mission they did not choose for that playthrough.
- Completing this mission for the first time will reward the "Arquebus Corporation" Emblem for use on a player's AC.
- There is a non-standard Failure condition where the STRIDER can escape the combat zone if the player fails to reach the STRIDER and deals no damage to it in a particular amount of time.
Trivia[]
- In the Japanese version, the superweapon on top of the Strider is known as "The Eyeball".
