"Eliminate V.VII" is a mission in Chapter 3 of ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON. It is one of the mandatory missions given after completing "Steal the Survey Data."
In-game information[]
Combat zone: Central Belius - Arquebus Survey Base "The Wall" Objective: Destroy Enemy AC
|
Objectives[]
- Reach the destination
- Eliminate V.VII Swinburne
- Defeat Rokumonsen of the Rubicon Liberation Front (Optional)
Walkthrough[]
Starting off at the top of a cliff overlooking the city below, the player's first objective is to reach their destination at the other end of the city. However, the MT's in this mission are equipped with cameras which will activate if they see the player, indicated by a large yellow warning sign on the player's screen. If the MT's maintain sight of the player for long enough, they will launch flares that will alert the entire city, which will fail the mission. To prevent this, players must either move behind cover to break line of sight, or quickly kill the MT spotting them. The MT's have spotlights attached to them which provides a visual indicator of where they are looking, giving players the ability to sneak behind the MT's. The "STV Sketch (4)" data log can be found by a gate at the bottom of the side wall by descending the cliff and sticking to the right.
Despite the mission's parameters, actively engaging in combat will not put the city at full alert, so players can engage in combat at their leisure. Also, Tetrapod MT's present in the mission do not have cameras, so players can fight them head on without triggering an alert.
There are three possible paths that players can take to reach their destination, each with their own pros and cons:
- The middle path through the city features lots of cover, allowing players to simply evade detection and conserve ammunition. However, this requires watching out for MT's that might be lurking in the corners.
- The large walls to the right of the player's starting position has very few MT's guarding the top. Players can simply travel on top of the wall and the terraces to the right to avoid detection from patrolling MT's on the ground level, though not only is this route longer, but players can be attacked by flying drones.
- Finally, the left side by the map limit has the shortest route towards the destination, where players can boost up the city's outer wall. However, this path lacks cover making it difficult to hide from MT's, requiring players be fast going through it.
Once players reach the marked destination, an explosion will rock the map, and players will be asked to proceed to the next marked destination over the city's outer wall. Nearby will be a Tetrapod MT marked by the LOGHUNT program guarding the text data "The Re-Education Center" data log, players should clear out the three nearby surveillance MTs before engaging the Tetrapod. Past the wall, where the player will flag a checkpoint, and over a trench is an industrial parking area where the main objective of the mission can be found: V.VII Swinburne and his AC GUIDANCE. Swinburne will not automatically attack the player since his back will be turned from the player's approach, presenting an easy opportunity to ambush Swinburne. Even if the player does walk in front of Swinburne, he will mistake the player for an ally for several seconds before attacking.
Options[]
If Swinburne takes enough damage to spend his repair kit, he will activate his Pulse Armor and try to cut the player a deal, indicated by the line "Wait, let's not do anything hasty!" Unlike other AC fights, players can decide Swinburne's fate, as well as their reward, based on their actions after that point:
- Killing Swinburne: The default mission is to continue attacking Swinburne, which has a few subtle variations. Regardless of the method, killing Swinburne will give players the normal mission payout of 200,000 COAM, as well as a Gold Combat Log:
- Ignore the offer: Players can choose to simply ignore his talk and continue attacking. The Accept/Refuse prompt will disappear and the fight will continue; if done fast enough, this will prevent the prompt from appearing.
- Refuse the offer: If the player listens to Swinburne's offer but chooses Refuse, this will make the fight resume as normal
- Betray the offer: If the player listens to Swinburne's offer and chooses Accept, this will make Swinburne non-hostile, and there will be a few seconds before Swinburne actually leaves. Players can still attack Swinburne during this window, and unlike before he will take fatal damage from any attack, killing him quickly and counting as completing the mission.
- Sparing Swinburne: Choosing to Accept the offer and spare Swinburne and let him escape will make a cutscene play introducing the arrival of a new enemy: Rokumonsen and his AC SHINOBI. Being ranked higher in the Arena, Rokumonsen sports a more advanced AC than Swinburne, making him a more difficult fight. Defeating Rokumonsen will give a Gold Combat Log, and Arquebus will give the player a 270,000 COAM reward to compensate for the 200,000 COAM penalty in abandoning the RLF's mission, resulting in a net 70,000 COAM increase over simply killing Swinburne. Though, the player will likely be inflicted with greater ammunition and repair costs from having to combat two ACs.
Collectibles[]
- Data Logs:
- Image Data: STV Sketch (4)
- Text Data: The Re-Education Center
- LOGHUNT:
- 1 BAWS Tetrapod MT (Silver)
- V.VII Swinburne (Gold)
- Rokumonsen (Gold)
Notes[]
- Completing the mission by killing V.VII Swinburne will reward the "Rubicon Liberation Front" emblem. If the mission is completed by sparing Swinburne and killing Rokumonsen, players will receive the "Vespers" emblem instead. Be aware that these emblems can only be acquired when playing the mission normally as part of a campaign run, and not through the Replay Mission function.
- Swinburne and Rokumonsen reward separate Combat Logs, meaning it will take players at least two playthroughs of the mission to acquire both of their Combat Logs. Unlike with the emblems, the Combat Logs can be acquired at any time by replaying the mission.

| Post-mission conversation (If other available missions has been completed) | "Cinder" Carla: How's it going, Walter? Handler Walter: Hard to say. 621's still performing well, but I doubt the voices have gone away. At any rate, whatever the voices are doesn't seem to be doing any harm...for now. "Cinder" Carla: ...I was asking about you, Walter, but whatever. Bigger things. The Coral. You'd better find it. Turns out, our friends' fears were warranted. Don't spend too long dealing with the PCA, Walter. Clock's ticking. |
