Enrique Elkano is a Lynx appearing in Armored Core 4. He is ranked 32nd in the Data Arena. Recognized early on for his AMS aptitude as a Lynx and for his talent as a NEXT designer.
Biography[]
Scouted by GA's special committee for his AMS aptitude, Elkano was brought into the fold of one of the fastest growing corporations. Here, he developed a highly versatile bipedal NEXT which he used. With the onset of the Lynx War, Elkano saw firsthand the extent of the destruction which NEXTs were capable of. Sometime during or after the war, Elkano started designing NEXTs for other pilots (and is one of the few known for doing so). Continuing to work with Global Armaments, Elkano oversaw the construction of NEXTs such as Wonderful Body and Merrygate.

Enrique Elkano's NEXT, Triana is a heavyweight GAN01-SUNSHINE-L model built to withstand enemy attacks while at the same time unleashing a relentless amount of firepower. Being able to switch between dual GA America GAN01-SS-WB bazookas with MSAC International's dual back-mounted CHEYENNE02 spread missiles, Triana is able to destroy most slower moving enemies. When pushed to the brink, the NEXT features dual GAN01-SS-WH.E handguns which it can use to finish enemies off.

Etymology[]
- The name Elkano refers to Juan Sebastián Elcano, a Spanish explorer who completed the first circumnavigation of the Earth. After Magellan's death in the Philippines, Elcano took command of the nau Victoria from the Moluccas to Sanlúcar de Barrameda in Spain. This is confirmed by his emblem of a Spanish ship.
- The word Triana, the name of Enrique Elkano's NEXT is supposedly derived from the original denomination of Trajana. The name may be a combination of the Latin tri, meaning three, and the Celtiberian ana, meaning river, indicating a river split into three. This could refer to the three different armaments on the NEXT. Another hypothesis suggests that the derivation of Triana is from the Latin expression Trans amnem, meaning those beyond the river
