Appearances Armored Core: Verdict Day

Erik is a mercenary who appears in story mission 6 of Armored Core: Verdict Day.

Biography[]

Origin: Yunsk Canyon. Male, age 33. Called the "Steel Duelist" in deference to his experience in nearly armed conflict among the Three Forces to date. Not one for fancy tactics, he favored the direct frontal assault. His reputation grew from surviving countless battles despite his crude brutality.

While there were doubts about his aptitude to be considered an ace pilot, his survivability deserved recognition as a rare talent.

Perhaps because his seeming indestructibility caught the Signs Office's attention, it appears he was especially offered missions for field testing new weaponry, both friendly and hostile.

He is contracted alongside the Lone Mercenary to defend Karmat Base against the rogue UNACs. Despite a valiant effort, he is overwhelmed and defeated by their sheer numbers.

Originally thought killed in that battle, he made yet another miraculous return.

Quotes[]

  • "You mean me and the merc, right? You just sit back and let me show you the difference between man and machine." - to Venide's Commander
  • "We are mercenaries: we're gonna die when we're gonna die!" - to Fatman's group
  • "This... can't be happening!!! No, Nooo!!!" - before his defeat
  • "I can't let these... rust buckets beat me!!!"
  • "Arrgghhh!!!" - when he's knocked down

AC Thor's Hammer[]

Thor's Hammer is a lightweight bipedal with KE defense orientation that uses its superior mobility to directly assault enemies. It comes equipped with a AM/RFA-222 rifle in the right hand, an ARAGANE mdl.1 battle rifle in the left hand and the HATSUKARI mdl.1 pulse machine gun in the right hangar. Although Thor's Hammer has equipment varied enough to exploit any weakness in an enemies defenses, its light armor and poor overall defensive integrity unfortunately puts it at a disadvantage against other AC's that have the capability to stun and subsequently destroy it.

Gameplay[]

Erik is pretty much meant as a crash test dummy, as he only serves as a fight in the AC test mode. His apparent mobility and lightweight allows him outclass the average AC in speed and also be able to outmaneuver slower crafts. However, it's lack of durability is painfully evident, as it has paper thin defense stats and low overall AP. Despite having equipped weapons of all 3 types to exploit any areas of weakness in an AC, it's weapons have limited offensive capability and can be easily outclassed by sheer firepower as well. Not to mention it can also get staggered easily due to it being a lightweight.

Overall, Thor's Hammer is little of a threat to any serious pilot and newcomers can use him to test their skill in battle in the AC test mode.

Trivia[]

  • Erik serves as the bipedal AC opponent in the AC Test mode. This is alluded to in his profile, noting that he is often contracted to test new weaponry and crafts.
  • He is the only pilot in the game to survive the destruction of his AC. The other was Maggy (although it is be noted as an event in the past).
