Even Chance, known as Ding/Hinoto in Japanese (丁), is a Raven in Armored Core: Nine Breaker. He is ranked 4th in the Arena.

Information[]

This lightweight design is equipped with weapons that enable the pilot to engage targets from any range. The unit's exceptional mobility frustrates even the best.

AC Leaf | Hagakure[]

Leaf (known as Hagakure in Japanese, 葉隠) is a lightweight bipedal AC equipped with energy refill extensions, a back-mounted railgun, machine gun weapon arms and an overboost core. The unit is also equipped with Human PLUS.

Strategy[]

True to the name, Leaf's mobility makes it an rather annoying enemy to target, though it lacks durability needed to survive long battles - staying just short of seven thousand AP, making it one of the most fragile builds in the Arena. Even Chance has simple two modes of attack: he uses his railgun at longer ranges & his machine gun arms at closer ranges. Due to the aforementioned low durability & high mobility, it’s better to use rapid fire weapons against him. Machine guns & shotguns work well against him; his own machine gun arms are effective against him as well. Missiles are also viable to use on him but his affinity to dodge means some of your shots are bound to miss so don’t fire blindly.

The LADON2 railgun packs a big punch but is one of the most telegraphed weapons; time your dodge just after the weapon is done charging in order to avoid the blast, which has one of the highest projectile velocities. Even Chance is quite an accurate shot with his railgun so staying closer to him will help, though you will have to contend with his weapon arms but they’re somewhat easier to avoid then his railgun. Alternatively, you may try to stay at long distance to have more time to avoid the railgun shot.

Trivia[]

  • His pilot name in Japanese (丁) is pronounced Hinoto, but it can also be said as Ding.
  • His AC name in Japanese, Hagakure (葉隠), is the name of a book from the Edo period that describes the samurai's code of conduct. It is famous for the phrase "Bushido is the way of death."
  • The name of this Ranker may sound ironic, considering that he enjoys the advantages of OP-INTENSIFY that are excluded from the normal player usage (excepting an usage of actual cheats, what would make this match only more ironic), most notably using the railgun cannon on the fly on an lightweight bipedal AC.
