Exile is a Raven appearing in Armored Core 3. He holds the bottom rank, E-32 in the Arena, but is feared as one of the best Ravens.

AC Painkiller | Afterpain[]

Painkiller is a lightweight hover AC equipped with an exceed orbit core, CROW stealth extensions, a machine gun, and Moonlight laser blade. This AC also has OP-INTENSIFY, allowing it to boost for extended periods of time.

The Japanese version of Exile's AC is called Afterpain (アフターペインafuta-pein).

An illustration of Exile

He's fought on many battlefields and destroyed countless Ravens. Stories of him cracking open opponent's ACs in mere seconds are used to frighten new pilots. No one knows his background, but most claim he is even better than Ace. Exile is unlocked after beating the game, with an unknown client wanting him defeated.

Strategy[]

The following information is "gray area" content — it may not be completely factual, and/or falls under YMMV territory.

Exile's main strengths are his AC's stealth extensions and machine gun. With 1000 rounds, Exile can constantly lay out a stream of bullets which prevents the player from doing much else other than dodging. The CROW stealth extensions also makes Exile invulnerable to lock-ons, making him more difficult to attack. A suggested method is to use OP-INTENSIFY and build a low energy drain AC. With energy refill extensions and a machine gun you can simply wait him out. Constantly strafe boost to the right or left and he will simply waste his machine gun ammo without hitting you. When he runs out of ammo, take him down with your machine gun.

Another strategy is to create a middleweight AC with the ORCA core (which contains 100 shots in its EO), a Karasawa and the energy optional parts (no OP-I). Fight him in the Reservoir arena, avoiding his bullets until they run out and hit him when he is at low altitude while boosting sideways/backward.

Another plan of attack is choosing the Arena map. He'll always fly up and down until he reaches you, and with the right timing, you can peg him with a double grenade launcher round from a Weapon Arm, dealing a great deal of damage so long as you don't move until you fire it. After that, it comes down to getting one or two more grenade launcher shots to put him down generally.

Etymology[]

The name Exile refers to a person who has been banished from one's home or country. The name is fitting because he is not well known among the Ravens of Global Cortex.

The name Painkiller refers to a drug that numbs the pain in the body.

Trivia[]

  • One of the "cheap" opponents in the Armored Core series with the others being EX-300, Matthias, Nameless, Ultimate Zinaida, and Nine-Ball Seraph among the most prominent ones.
  • By defeating him with the OP-INTENSIFY part equipped, you will unlock increased blade range.
  • The Japanese bio of Exile adds that no one has ever seen Exile physically, and that he entered the Arena as he was not satisfied with hunting prey on the battlefield.
