G1 Michigan is an Armored Core pilot active on the planet Rubicon 3 during the Coral War. The former commander of the Furlong Armed Fleet, he is currently the leader of Balam Industries' AC mercenary group, the Redguns. He is a man of great notoriety, being hailed as a hero of the Jupiter War, and being the direct reason for G6 Red to be inspired to try out for the Redguns. His skill as an AC pilot is equally as impressive that he earned the moniker "Hell on Four Legs", known by both his allies and his enemies.
He is ranked 02/S in ALLMIND's virtual Arena.
Biography[]
Michigan himself is a gung-ho military man with a domineering drill sergeant profile, and has a habit of making sarcastic but comedic verbal jabs at people at every opportunity, something G5 Iguazu finds rather grating. He isn't overly strict with rank hierarchy however, as even when his subordinates clap back at some of his retorts, he instead responds back with his own.
Beneath his military persona however, Michigan is a respectable leader who cares about the people he serves with, and in-turn, earned his troops' loyalty and inspires them to do more, with G4 Volta commenting that the unit he formed feels more like family than anything else. This extends to his former comrades, as Michigan made a rather questionable move of putting a bounty on his own head at Balam's Bounty Board, with the stipulation that should it ever be claimed: half of the reward money goes to his old crew back in the Furlong Fleet.
Michigan appears in several briefings in important missions involving Balam, but only appears as an opponent during the mission: Intercept the Redguns. Where he and his MT platoon gather for a last stand against the Arquebus Corporation's forces, keeping them focused and motivated while his AC is prepped and readied for combat. He deploys against C4-621 with the rest of his men mid-way through the fight, giving them an option to either retreat or fight beside him to the bitter end. Despite the overwhelming odds however, 621 is successful in defeating Michigan and his squad, with his last request to the remaining Balam survivors that in posterity, it be recorded that: "He died of a bad fall".
If this mission is not taken, V.IV Rusty will instead be the one to take down Michigan off-screen, with Handler Walter commenting that he went down fighting.

G1 Michigan's personal AC unit is a dark blue heavy tetrapod named LIGER TAIL. Constructed from 011 MELANDER parts, with the VERRILL retrofit, and armed with kinetic and explosive weaponry, it is from this AC that G1 Michigan became known as "Hell on Four Legs."

In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, G1 Michigan is one of the NPCs representing the Balam faction. He can be fought in the Records division of the Arena for a reward of 48,500 COAM.
He appears with his AC LIGER TAIL in the Chapter 4 mission "Intercept the Redguns," as one of the enemies players must destroy.

- Michigan's LIGER TAIL is the only AC Data preset that uses the DF-GA-08 HU-BEN Gatling Gun and the DF-ET-09 TAI-YANG-SHOU Explosive Thrower.
- While on-point with his cocky demeanor, Michigan's final request of it be recorded that he died of a bad fall, instead of combat, is likely to make sure that the bounty he placed on his head in the Balam Bounty board, cannot be claimed, so all of it goes to his old friends back in the Furlong Armed Fleet.
- The reward for killing Michigan is 200,000 COAM, as Furlong Fleet gets 50% of the money, Michigan's Bounty is actually 400,000 COAM.
- On the other hand, defeating V.I Freud only gives 180,000 COAM.
