Grid 012 is a Grid structure located in the Contaminated Zone sub-region of Central Ice Field on Rubicon 3. During the Coral War, it is occupied by the Junker Coyotes, a Doser group.
Overview[]
Grid 012 is one of the oldest surviving Grids built on Rubicon 3 during the period before the Fires of Ibis. Standing much closer to the epicenter of the Fires of Ibis, Institute City, than most other Grids, Grid 012 suffered severe damage. Fifty years after the disaster, the abandoned structure is heavily dilapidated and on the verge of collapse.
Following RaD's counterattack against the Junker Coyotes amid the Planetary Closure Administration's crackdown, the remnants of the Junker Coyotes fled the Belius region and holed up in Grid 012. "Cinder" Carla later directed the independent mercenary C4-621 "Raven" to attack the Grid and eliminate the Junker Coyotes' leader, ex-RaD member "Honest" Brute, so that RaD could reclaim the prototype Overed Rail Cannon for use against the PCA's trump card, IA-02: ICE WORM. The mission is successful, and it is presumed that with Brute gone and their forces greatly reduced, the Junker Coyotes were permanently neutralized. The Overed Rail Cannon is recovered from a massive hangar within Grid 012 and transported to Old Bertram Spaceport for the anti-Ice Worm operation.
