The IA-13: SEA SPIDER is an autonomous hexapod built by the Rubicon Research Institute. As one of the Insitute's C-Weapons, the SEA SPIDER has a deadly arsenal of Coral weaponry and is capable of flight.
Armaments[]
- Coral Turret (Single-shot, burst and beam firing modes)
- 6 anti-air Coral Cluster Missiles
- 2 Coral fast-fire cannons
- 6 Coral Oscillators in feet
- Coral Beam weapon.
Gameplay[]
In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, the SEA SPIDER is a boss NPC fought at the end of the mission "Ocean Crossing," the finale of Chapter 2.
In the Alea Iacta Est branch's final mission "Coral Release," two flight mode SEA SPIDERs assist ALLMIND against the player during the second phase of the ALLMIND boss fight; defeating the two SEA SPIDERs is optional.
As of Regulation Ver. 1.02.1, its attacks have been adjusted.[1] Additionally, the SEA SPIDER had 28% Explosive and 21% Energy damage resistances prior to the update.
Strategy[]
The following information is "gray area" content — it may not be completely factual, and/or falls under YMMV territory.
When its AP is reduced to 30%, the SEA SPIDER enters its second phase and starts hovering, deploying a deadly beam weapon beneath its central body.
Alternatively, staying directly under the main body during the first phase and using a high impact kinetic weapon + sword is also effective. This method does require actively sidestepping to the opposite side of the body when the large laser cannon is fired.
