The IA-27: GHOST is a Special Enemy Unit encountered in ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON. They are old Rubicon Research Institute drones, most of which are found under the direct control of ALLMIND.
The Ghost is a bipedal, unmanned mech with a large dish with multiple sensors making up its torso, with no head to speak of. It has a back-mounted cloaking system, referred to as MDD, or Monitor Display Deception jamming. This system makes it impossible to see the Ghost from a distance, and requires the usage of one's onboard scan-mode to detect and lock on to these mechs.
They have a couple different variations in armament. The most commonly fought are equipped with high-power laser cannons that they use from either a kneeling position on the floor, or while hanging from a wall. They will snipe the player from afar until they are discovered, in which case they will drop jamming grenades and flee to a new vantage point.
The second variation, known as the Antigen is equipped with a powerful energy whip, which they use to great effect, making large sweeping motions and hitting the player with wide arcs. They will also throw electric grenades at the player to damage them further. Several of these are found guarding Xylem, the Floating City.
They can also be equipped with pulse generators, granting them Pulse Armor similar in function to Balteus. This variant is equipped with the laser whip, as well as a powerful plasma rifle.

Gameplay[]
The Ghosts are first encountered by the player in the Chapter 1 mission "Investigate BAWS Arsenal No.2," where they ambush the player on several occasions, and are the sole enemy type encountered. They show up in several other missions after this, most notably in alternate variants of existing missions found in NG+ and NG++, as ALLMIND takes a more prominent role in the story. They speak using encoded communications, making it impossible to know what they're saying or communicating to ALLMIND.
In Survey the Uninhabited Floating City, several are activated by the city's defense program to hunt down the player after the defense drones prove insufficient.

Trivia[]
- This unit gets its designation as "Ghost" from ALLMIND during the mission "Regain Control of the Xylem." During Survey the Uninhabited Floating City, several whip variants are labeled by the city's automated defenses as "Antigens".
- If you go back to where you first landed at the start of the game in the mission "Grid 135 Cleanup," you will find a Ghost waiting for you, as well as numerous BAWS MT wrecks. This means ALLMIND has been following the player since the very start of the game.
- In NG++, on the mission "Attack the Watchpoint," Sulla attacks the player with a squadron of Ghosts, revealing his unknown employer as ALLMIND.
- In the Digital Artbook, the Ghosts are implied to be manufactured by the Rubicon Research Institute, not ALLMIND.
