II Pecorone is an AC pilot who appears in Armored Core V.

Information[]

A Migrant Pilot encountered in Armored Core V 's Order Missions, Pecorone appears as the main enemy of Order Mission 14.  He pilots the AC 777.

Overview[]

Encountered in Order Mission 14 at the Alpine Base, Pecorone is one does not like to fight enemies for long, preferring to kill his foes as quickly as possible. His AC, 777, is a medium-weight bipedal with a bright blue and purple color scheme, its customary emblem adorning the left shoulder. It possesses high arm stability and slightly above-average Ap for a mid-weight biped.

AC 777[]

In-game Information: A general-purpose AC with excellent maneuverability that is constructed from medium-weight parts. Equipped with a rifle with stable performance and sneak-attack stealth missiles. Although outfitted to be suitable for various situations, it's better-suited to low-risk battles than close-range combat.

777 is your first taste of fairly-mobile, intelligent enemies. In 777's case, he is the very first foe you fight that will use the map to his advantage, frequently using boost-drive to get an elevated shot at you. While slower-reacting enemies try to locate him, he'll repeatedly batter away at them with its dual rifles and stealth missile combo.

Strategy []

As with most AC at this point, 777, if fought correctly and with the right frame of mind, will fall easily.

You begin at the right-hand side of the Alpine Base level, near the tunnels. 777 is across the valley, in the area with the small lake behind the canyon-like walls on your right. Should you stay where you are, he will eventually stop hiding and come out to find you.

As soon as you start, glide-boost towards the valley wall in front of you (on your right). If you have sufficient energy, keep boosting towards the gap and then engage 777 at your leisure. If not, drop between the two large stone cliffs that reside near the small lake and regain some energy. Should 777 be in a smart-enough mood to boost-drive up towards you while you're recovering, simply retreat back behind one of the small cliffs to reduce (or completely nullify) damage thrown at you.

777's CE is, even with a CE head and arms as a part of its configuration, still rather low, as is its TE defenses, meaning this fight is already in your favor. High-power CE weapons like battle rifles, short-range/medium missiles and HEAT Howitzers will wreck 777; as will any TE weapon, such as pulse guns, PMG's, laser rifles, Plasma guns and laser blades.

If it helps, copy the same strategy as 777, and make sure you always have an altitude and elevation advantage, but be warned: its stealth missiles have a fair amount of stun, which will sometimes knock you out of the sky, so exercise evasion, as these ammunition render all close-in weapon system shoulder units useless.

Get above him and rain down the pain. If you're lucky and get the drop on him before he is prepared, he will not have much of a chance to hit you.

It is simply a small game of charging, getting up high and raining down rounds. 777 will fall, if you get to him first.

Trivia []

  • Pecorone and his AC, 777, are the first AC encounter in ACV's order missions to use boost-drive effectively, in order to confuse enemies and get a better angle of attack.
  • His AC's emblem reappears (albeit differently) in Armored Core: Verdict Day.
  • His AC name, 777, could be reference to the jet airliner made by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, the Boeing 777.
