Walkthrough[]

This mission begins with the player's AC standing up after its crash landing from orbit in Grid 135. The beginning section of the mission will provide various tutorial videos and prompts to teach players the basic movement controls of Armored Core VI. Players will eventually reach a large railyard section with groups of MT's, where the game will then proceed to teach players the basics of combat including the use of weapons and multi-lock. At the end of the railyard to the right is a door that players must open, which will prompt another tutorial on how to use Repair Kits. Once players reach the outside, the player will be directed to use the catapult to the right side, which will launch them into the next section of the mission.

Upon landing players will find themselves in the Contaminated City, where players get another tutorial prompt for Quick Boosting, along with a group of enemy MT's standing in their way. At this point players can reach a cliffside which will prompt a tutorial for Assault Boost, and three objective waypoint markers will be activated showing the locations of AC wreckage that can be used to find a mercenary license. These wrecks can be visited in any order, with their own specific pros and cons:

  • The wreckage to the far left is found within a large burning structure, with a handful of shielded MT's guarding it. Players can break through the shields using their equipped Pulse Blade.
  • The wreckage by the middle of the city is found by a boulevard with a large group of enemy MT's surrounding it. However, a Planetary Closure Administration AH12: HC HELICOPTER will make an attack run on the boulevard, destroying all of the MT's. Make sure not to be caught up in the heavy helicopter's attack, as its weapons can deal immense damage to the player.
  • The wreckage to the far right is located on top of a building, guarded by a group of MT's and several attack helicopters. It is recommended to clear out the surrounding area of all enemies before interacting with the wreck.

Once all three wrecks have been collected, the fourth and final wreckage site will be marked by a waypoint, located high above the cliff overlooking the city. A vertical catapult located on top of a building by the base of the cliff can be used to ascend the cliff quickly.

Scanning the final wreckage will initiate a boss fight against the AH12: HC HELICOPTER that appeared earlier, and players will be ordered to destroy it. This helicopter will primarily use its machine guns to attack, however it will also launch a barrage of missiles from the launchers on its belly to deal heavy damage.

While seemingly daunting for a first-time player, the main weakness of the AH12 is that it has no armaments, nor any ability, to engage enemies that are beside, behind, under, or over it. It is also too large and too slow to immediately react to threats from these angles, allowing ample time to deal damage before it corrects itself.

By approaching and attacking it from these blind spots, and taking cover behind buildings if its too far to be engaged and waiting for an opportune moment to strike: the player can easily dispatch the AH12 with little difficulty with the LOADER 4's minimal armaments.

The mission ends once the AH12 has been destroyed.

Collectibles[]

Notes[]

  • Illegal Entry is one of two missions in the game where the player is given a unique Armored Core to pilot, in this case 621's RaD Scout mech. As such, the mission cannot be replayed with any other AC.
  • On New Game Plus playthroughs and beyond, Illegal Entry is skipped over, with each playthrough starting out at the point where ALLMIND reinstates the Raven callsign.

Dialogue[]

Condition English Japanese Audio
Introductory cinematic Handler Walter: We're close to Rubicon. Wake the dog up.
COM: Handler "Walter" verified. Activating cerebral Coral control device. Augmented human C4-621 has awakened.
Handler Walter: Time to get to work, 621. I'm powering down your entry capsule. On my signal. Now! Activate the AC.
COM: Descent to ISB2262, "Rubicon 3," complete.
Handler Walter: Your position is...Grid 135. Off target, but within permissible range. There's a catapult ahead. Use it to close the gap.
- -
Spotting guard mechs Handler Walter: Clear out those guard mechs. Perfect chance to test your AC. - -
Going past gate without repairing AC Handler Walter: Your AC's taken damage. Patch it up. - -
Going past gate already repaired AC Handler Walter: Repaired your AC already? Good. - -
Approaching the catapult Handler Walter: See the contaminated city down there? That's where you're landing. Access the catapult. - -
Launching from the catapult Handler Walter: Time to fly, 621. If we get our hands on Rubicon's Coral... We'll make a killing. Plenty for a merc with a fried brain like you to buy their life back. Enough chat, back to work. Scavenge the AC wrecks ahead and find a valid mercenary license. We're illegals here—you'll need ID to operate. - -
Spotted by RLF MTs near landing site RLF Soldier (1): An AC?! Where the hell did that come from?
RLF Soldier (2): Affiliation unknown—is it a merc?! Shut it down!
Handler Walter: Guerillas from the Liberation Front. They'll get in the way of our work. Eliminate them.
- -
Reaching cliff-face overlooking Contaminated City Handler Walter: I'm picking up signals from AC wrecks. Follow the markers. - -
Eavesdropping on RLF soldiers underneath freeway RLF Soldier (1): Did you hear anything about what the corps are up to?
RLF Soldier (2): Yeah, they'll be coming soon... They've got us on the run.
- -
Attacking RLF soldiers underneath freeway RLF Soldier (2): We're being attacked!
RLF Soldier (1): Unidentified AC! Return fire!
- -
Approaching Thomas Kirk's wreckage RLF Soldier (1): There! That's the AC from the reports!
RLF Soldier (2): Find out who they're working for!
Handler Walter: Looks like they've got shields. Good thing you've got a blade.
- -
Extracting Thomas Kirk's license Handler Walter: Extract the pilot data. I'll analyze it from my end. This one's already expired. Keep looking. - -
Approaching G7 Hakra's wreckage Handler Walter: What?!
RLF Soldier (1): SG! We got Subject Guard!
RLF Soldier (2): Get out of there! You can't handle them!
Handler Walter: That's the PCA's planetside force... Keep a low profile. We don't want them breathing down our necks.
- -
Extracting G7 Hakra's license Handler Walter: Analyzing. Corp license—easily traced. Forget it. - -
Engaging RLF soldiers RLF Soldier (1): Unidentified AC! Is that a corp scout?!
RLF Soldier (2): Shoot first! Ask questions later!
Handler Walter: Deal with them, 621.
- -
Eavesdropping on RLF soldiers by Monkey Gordo's wreckage RLF Soldier (1): Dafeng and Schneider are on the move. The Grid won't be safe.
RLF Soldier (2): We've still got the STRIDER and the Wall. Don't forget that.
- -
Attacking RLF soldiers by Monkey Gordo's wreckage RLF Soldier (1): Corp AC! Wait, is that an independent?!
RLF Soldier (2): Destroy it!
Handler Walter: You're outnumbered, 621. Use your missiles.
- -
Extracting Monkey Gordo's license Handler Walter: Let's see about this license. It's still valid, but the pilot's rank is no good. We can't use this. - -
Examined all three wreckages Handler Walter: I've picked up one more wreck, 621. Transmitting marker. Go and check it out. - -
Approaching vertical catapult Handler Walter: You can use that vertical catapult to get some altitude. - -
Approaching fourth wreckage Handler Walter: That's it. Try accessing the wreck. - -
Extracted fourth license Handler Walter: Registration number Rb23. Rank fits the bill. Callsign... What?! Looks like they were onto you after all. I'm in no mood to pick a fight with the PCA... But it doesn't matter. Take it out now and they won't have enough to ID you. - -
Initiating ACS overload on AH12: HC Helicopter Handler Walter: You've got them now. Make it count, 621. - -
AH12: HC Helicopter's HP falls to ~50% Handler Walter: We've got what we came for. Tie up the loose end, 621. - -
AH12: HC Helicopter deploys missiles Handler Walter: Use your mobility in the air to get clear of explosions on the ground. - -
Following AH12: HC Helicopter defeat Handler Walter: Confirmed. Heavy combat helicopter is down. That's all for our work here today, 621. Here's the callsign from that license you picked up: "Raven." That's your new name here on Rubicon. - -
Post-mission cinematic "Coral"—a sublime substance. Discovered on Rubicon, a planet on the frontier of developed space... For a time, Coral was a revolutionary energy resource and data conduit, poised to transform human society by leaps and bounds. They called it the Fires of Ibis. A storm of flame that tore through the stars, leaving lethal contamination in its wake. Coral, the kindling, was thought to have been utterly consumed, forever lost. However... On Rubicon, the embers continued to burn. Humanity would inevitably return... ...to stoke the fire. - -

ALLMIND: Welcome back, Raven.
Handler Walter: Looks like you passed the authentication. "Raven." That's who you are now, here on Rubicon. I've picked up some work for you already. Take a look, 621.
ALLMIND: This notification follows restoral of access privileges. ALLMIND provides a combat training simulator to support its mercenaries. Your license was in a suspended state. Perhaps you may need a refresher. As an added incentive, completion of the exercises will be rewarded with AC parts. You stand to benefit regardless.
