"Infiltrate Grid 086" is the first mission in Chapter 2 of ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON.

Walkthrough[]

The mission begins with the player arriving in Grid 086's lower levels from a vertical catapult, with the objective to infiltrate RaD territory to access the top of Grid 086. The mission is open-ended and can be lengthy for players who seek to find all the collectibles, therefore it is recommended to bring weapons suited for attrition such as a melee weapon.

The player will first have to fight their way along Grid 086's railway until reaching the first marker at a railyard, where "Invincible" Rummy will engage the player in combat. Despite his bravado, Rummy poses little threat, with the only notable danger being his easily evaded chainsaw. Eliminating Rummy is mandatory, and will reward a silver battle log from the LOGHUNT program.

Following Rummy's defeat, a gate above the railyard will be opened by "Cinder" Carla, leading outside to a large open area with numerous collectibles. Alternatively, the player can choose to simply make their way to the next marker to progress the mission.

From where the player emerged after defeating "Invincible" Rummy, turning around and flying above the building where Rummy was fought will lead to a pair of Tetrapod MTs marked by the LOGHUNT program. Both Tetrapods are equipped with a cannon, shotgun, and laser sword making them formidable foes at any range. However, nearby their patrol route will be destructible fuel tanks which, if timed correctly, can be used to ambush and inflict damage on at least one of the Tetrapod MTs.

Further along the same direction, a pair of RaD TOYBOX mechs marked by the LOGHUNT program can be found. Nearby, dropping down the ledge will reveal a wreckage with the "Doser Ravings" data log.

Arriving at the next marker will prompt an ambush from two TOYBOX mechs, dispatching them will allow the player to head into Grid 086's interior. From the room's ceiling, after dropping below the player can turn around to find the HC-3000 WRECKER AC part.

The player will eventually come across a room with a furnace to the left and a gate at the end, heading past the gate will progress the mission. Beside the furnace will be two pipes, one of which will contain the "The Collector's Last Words" data log, and the other will lead to independent mercenary Nosaac guarding the AC-3000 WRECKER AC part. Melee weapons or explosives will be useful due to the closed space players fight him in, and eliminating him rewards a gold battle log.

Heading past the furnace will reveal a room with the CC-3000 WRECKER AC part at the bottom guarded by a few RaD MTs.

Heading out the gate will lead the player outside, where players will approach a marker that will tag numerous RaD MTs for elimination, however, there are fuel tanks hanging above the MT squad set as a trap that the player may shoot down.

There will be a BAWS Tetrapod remaining equipped with an SMG, bazookas, and a shield. Players can either damage it by outmaneuvering it, or by destroying its shield through an ACS overload.

After this point, players can head inside the facility to find a Supply Sherpa prior to the SMART CLEANER boss room.

The final collectibles can be found by going right from where the player was initially before engaging the MT squad, where at the same level of the MT squad, the 2C-3000 WRECKER AC part can be found. Dropping down from the ledge will reveal 2 RaD MTs and a TOYBOX mech marked by the LOGHUNT program.

SMART CLEANER[]

The SMART CLEANER is a heavily armored machine with a pair of dangerous grinder arms, which its first act will immediately attempt to slam the player AC with its arms. The SMART CLEANER's armor will make it highly resistant to attack besides two weakpoints, the furnace intake at its front or the exhaust atop it.

Players will need to be wary of its grinder arms, as even grazing it will damage and stagger the player AC. It is recommended to engage the SMART CLEANER's exhaust atop it, as it only has a limited range of attacks for an aerial AC, compared to an AC that is grounded and attempting to attack its frontal intake. The fight may essentially be trivialized should the player engage the SMART CLEANER with a tetrapod AC.

Once the player inflicts an ACS overload on the SMART CLEANER, it is advisable to attack the now vulnerable frontal intake, in addition to taking the time on the ground to recover energy. The SMART CLEANER will move to its second phase after its health is brought to around 50%, and will generally be more aggressive with attacks that sends more projectiles in the air.

Grid 086 is occupied by the Dosers—outlaws who treat Coral like a drug. It's also the territory of a belligerent group of arms dealers who call themselves RaD. Be prepared for a perilous journey. I'll be here to support you, Raven. - -
