ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON

An Irregular (alternatively translated by Agetec as "Rebel") has different meanings depending on the games. In every Armored Core games except 4 and For Answer, Irregular is used to refer to any individual who is strong enough to disturb the power balance. Irregular is also sometimes used to refer to Ravens who aren't affiliated with the various Raven controlling organizations such as the Ravens' Nest. Lynx who aren't affiliated with Collared are also classified as irregulars.

Armored Core[]

Armored Core: Project Phantasma[]

Armored Core: Master of Arena[]

  • PROGTECH : Nine-Ball wanted to destroy the company due to how PROGTECH have developed too many powerful technologies and grew too much in terms of power.
  • Annihilator : Nine-Ball also branded him as an Irregular due to how he sided with PROGTECH and destroyed one of mass-produced Nine-Ball AC.

Armored Core 2[]

  • The Raven : Leos Klein recognizes the protagonist Raven as an Irregular and notes that he's already figured someone like him into his calculations, taking extensively cautionary methods to prevent him from interfering with his plans.

Armored Core 3, Silent Line: Armored Core[]

Armored Core: Last Raven[]

The term Irregular does not appear in Last Raven, however, a concept known as the Dominant Theory is similar to the common definition of an Irregular.

Armored Core 4, Armored Core: For Answer[]

Irregulars are generally rogue NEXT pilots. Companies want them destroyed because they can cause severe unexpected disruptions. Independents are now a separate category encompassing Lynx who do not have an affiliation with any company but are registered with Collared.

Armored Core V, Armored Core: Verdict Day[]

While the term "Irregular" itself never comes up in V, the myth of the Dark Raven passed down to Magnolia Curtis bears a resemblance to the most common definition, being an individual with the power to change the world order.

ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON[]

"Irregulars" is the label used by the mercenary liaison organization ALLMIND when referring to anomalies to their Coral Release plan. At the end of the Coral War, the independent mercenary C4-621 and the Rubiconian Ayre are both labelled Irregulars when they oppose ALLMIND at LOC Station 31. G5 Iguazu is labelled an Irregular as well after he deviates from ALLMIND's plans during their battle against 621 and Ayre.[1]

Translation differences[]

The English versions of Armored Core 2 and Armored Core 3 instead use the term "Rebel."
