LOC Station 31 is a Planetary Closure Administration space station orbiting Rubicon 3. It is a key part of the Closure System, the weaponized satellite array built by the PCA to enforce the planet-wide quarantine of Rubicon 3 following the Fires of Ibis.
Overview[]
Prior to the Coral War, LOC Station 31 was raided by Branch, a hacktivist group operating in the Rubicon system that had discovered the PCA was covering up the survival of Coral on Rubicon 3. During the battle of LOC Station 31, the Branch AC pilot King reportedly carried out a solo diversionary maneuver against an entire fleet of PCA AS07: HEAVY WARSHIPs, while his compatriot Chartreuse dealt a critical blow to the Closure System. This weakened the PCA enough for the extraplanetary corporations Balam Industries and Arquebus Corporation to make landfall on Rubicon 3 and begin the Coral survey.
At the close of the Coral War, LOC Station 31 returned to relevance. If C4-621 opted to enact Overseer's plan to burn the Coral, they are directed to LOC Station 31 in order to shut down the Closure System so that the Xylem can ram into the Vascular Plant, where all of the Coral had been gathered, without hindrance. Atop the station, C4-621 is forced to confront the Coral's final protector: Ayre, controlling the C-Weapon IB-07: SOL 644. C4-621 prevails and the Xylem strikes its target, unleashing the "Fires of Raven".
If C4-621 opted to enact ALLMIND's plan to trigger Coral Release, they are directed to the station to observe the plan's implementation. However, this is a trap, as ALLMIND determined that C4-621 was of no further use and had to be disposed of. C4-621 is embroiled in a battle for survival against ALLMIND's executioner, G5 Iguazu, who initially pilots a MIND GAMMA AC before switching to a modified version of SOL 644. Ayre joins C4-621 in her own AC, ECHO. In the end, Iguazu and ALLMIND are defeated, leaving C4-621 and Ayre to activate Coral Release on their own terms.
