AC Semilat

The Semilat is a heavyweight tank legged AC that is equipped with an energy-based exceed orbit core, energy pack extensions, a high powered plasma cannon, a rapid-fire pulse cannon, a high-power grenade rifle and an energy shield. It is well armored and due to its use of the hard hitting back weapons is very powerful. Midas pilots her AC fairly well but the Semilat is still quite slow.

In-Game Information[]

Named after a legendary king who turned everything that he touched into gold, the pilot refers to her AC's close-range cannons as the King's Right Hand. In this case, what they touch turns to scrap, not gold. She and Barchetta were close once.

Strategy[]

Although Midas' Semilat AC may appear like a dreadnought packing a highly destructive arsenal, at closer inspection its part selection becomes questionable. Midas does pack a lot of heat, but in fact she is only threatening if you stay in her direct line of fire and within her range. Even though her weapons deal a large amount of damage, her accuracy isn't that great, and (besides the pulse cannon) they fire quite slowly, giving alert pilots ample time to predict and dodge the shots' trajectory. Furthermore, her AC has energy consumption issues which are barely alleviated by her energy refill extensions. Another glaring weakness is that Semilat lacks Overboost, meaning it can't dodge attacks easily, and it also lacks any form of missile defense. Even worse so is that despite having an energy shield, Midas hardly uses it at all, probably because she has trouble managing power reserves for her energy-intensive AC.

With these glaring flaws in mind, Midas' threat level drops dramatically. She can be flanked easily, struggles to keep up with quicker, agile foes, and has only minimal defensive advantages against just about anything. Semilat's weapons cannot fire for long (save for the grenade rifle, which is already slow to reload), and can still be outranged by a dedicated sniper build. Midas is also easy pickings for a missile-based AC, as Semilat has zero missile defenses. In the end, any kind of setup will work on Midas, so long as you keep out of her line of sight and prevent her from being able to target you effectively.
