Mission[]

This mission is to take care of the Foundation forces in the target area. You will face the entirety of the remaining Reaper Squad members, including Maggy (in her presumably old Blue Magnolia AC). K will appear first, followed by D along with his 2 allied UNACs and finally Maggy.

The enemy composition is unknown. Exercise caution.

Armored Core Verdict Day Mission 08 "Vendetta"

Despite the briefing, there're no Foundation weapons of any kind in this mission. Instead, you are pitted against the Reaper Squad in an all-out AC brawl (facing 5 ACs in succession).

The first AC you face is K, she will appear in a cutscene, stationing herself atop a high spot on the map while attempting to snipe you down with her powerful sniper cannon. Make use of the obstacles on the map as cover as you approach her. She will then drop her sniper cannon and engage you directly. To deal with K, use either KE rifles or TE pulse weapons as her AC lacks adequate defense against these weapon types. K's weapons include a sniper rifle, a rifle and a pulse gun. While they possess decent attack power, they have rather slow fire rate and can be easily avoided or dodged if you're careful enough.

Once K is defeated, D will then appear. Like before, he's accompanied by UNACs, albeit with 2 instead of 5. In contrast to K, who usually tends to keep a distance while engaging, D will actively home in on you while relentlessly dishing out a fearsome barrage of autocannon and cannon fire, not to mention he also uses VTF missiles to further bolster his AC's killing potential. On top of this, his 2 Reaper UNACs will also actively attack you from different angles to throw you off.

To beat them, you will have make use of the elevated platforms/obstacles on the map. It's likely they might run into something while attacking, allowing you to attack them while they stall. Unlike K, D and his UNACs don't harbor high CE defense, so battle rifles are recommended against them. Shoulder missiles can also do some good damage to them as they all lack proper anti-missile defense.

Once D & his UNACs have been defeated, Maggy then appears as the final AC opponent. She is using her possibly old craft, which is a mid-biped with a mini-Karasawa laser rifle and a rapid fire H.E.A.T machine gun. In addition to these, her AC also sports short-range CE missiles.

Compared to D and K, Maggy is much more mobile and maneuverable thanks to her AC loadout, but as a result has lower durability. CE weapons will work against her as Maggy's craft has poor CE resistance. After taking a certain amount of punishment, Maggy will recoil away and fall back, ending the mission.

It is possible to kill Maggy outright, though this would require a very powerful one-shot killer type weapon like a H.E.A.T pile driver.

Trivia[]

  • This mission has a total of 5 AC opponents to defeat, which could possibly be the largest number of AC opponents ever faced in a mission (excluding the earlier mission with rogue UNACs). Another mission with such a scenario is Occupation of Arteria Carpals.
  • This is the first mission where Maggy appears in an AC (presumably her old craft).
  • If you have downloaded the DLC soundtrack for the game, the DLC Soundtrack "9" will play in this mission. The "9" soundtrack is a remix of the original Nine-Ball themed OST from Armored Core: Master of Arena.
  • The "9" DLC soundtrack is meant to reference Nineball from the original AC game. Furthermore, the Reaper Squad ACs' color/paint scheme, which is red & black, is also a reference to Nineball's AC colors.
