"Obstruct the Mandatory Inspection" is a mission in Chapter 1 of ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON. The mission is made available after completing "Escort the Weaponized Mining Ship," replacing the "Investigate BAWS Arsenal No. 2" mission.

Walkthrough

The mission proceeds as a simple assault operation on PCA forces in BAWS Arsenal No.2 beginning with the player lying in wait within the facility. The first sector with PCA forces consist of easily disposed AM14: SENTRY MTs, two laser drones and an LC unit.

Proceeding to the second sector will have similar levels of difficulty in chaff with two LC units accompanied by supporting Sentry MTs. Quickly clear out the MTs if targeting the LCs proves bothersome.

The third sector is set in a wide space with two PCA LC snipers targeting the player, along with three laser drones in the way. The approach the player should take is dependent on their AC, though blitzing the three drones using Assault Boost and quickly finding cover from sniper fire is viable. A vertical catapult is located at the bottom left from where the snipers are positioned.

PCA Special Forces

Following a rendezvous with Kate Markson, a PCA SP deployment composed of two EKDROMOI craft and a CATAPHRACT unit will arrive to engage the player. The EKDROMOI deployed possesses lower AP than those encountered in "Attack the Refueling Base" and should be prioritized first prior to engaging the CATAPHRACT as Kate Markson may provide sufficient distraction for a limited time. Although the EKDROMOI are more fragile, their mobility may make elimination troublesome and therefore weapons with slow projectile speed may prove difficult to wield.

The CATAPHRACT is fought identically to the one found in "Destroy the Special Forces Craft" when the other two SP craft are eliminated, with its entire body being practically invincible apart from its weak frontal MT core. High impact weapons or weapons with wide AOE can make dealing with the CATAPHRACT much more manageable, and potentially trivial should Kate Markson still remain at this point of the encounter.
