A Parry Blade in used
Parry Blades, simply known as Blades, are a type of melee weapons introduced in Armored Core 3.
Overview[]
Appearing as pile bunkers, the Parry Blades use a powerful drive system to force a hard, dense, and very sharp solid-metal blade into an opponent, doing incredible damage. It can be inferred that "parry" comes from the intention of using the blade to attack an enemy attempting a Laser Blade strike; however, unlike Laser Blades, Parry Blades do not automatically track and adjust the Armored Core's position to hit, and have a delay before hitting, making them extremely difficult to hit with. The high power of Parry Blades can offset this, and makes them a good choice for slow moving or stationary targets with high health; however, Laser Blades are also good for the same task, and are useful for other targets as well, giving Parry Blades limited effectiveness overall.
In Armored Core: For Answer, there is a type of weapons that exist alongside Parry Blades known as the Kojima Blade. The Kojima Blade is a Kojima Particle-powered pile bunker that works similar to Parry Blades as it rapidly depletes enemy craft's Primal Armor and causes a huge explosion upon hit. There is also a joke weapon type that works like Parry Blades known as the Dozer. It has infinite uses and is used for pushing enemy NEXTs back.
In Armored Core V, the Parry Blades come back as the CE attribute H.E.A.T. Pile Drivers. A large-caliber HEAT warhead is attached to the tip of the retractable stake, and it attacks by directly contacting and detonating the enemy craft. Their destructive power is tremendous, and if they are powerful models, depending on the changes in weapon performance, the attack power can exceed 60,000, and the actual damage can reach 30,000 to 40,000. Furthermore, the hit detection is wider than they appear, and combined with the game nature of ACV, which focuses on ground combat, they become the "practical weapon that you can aim at and rely on".
In addition to their light weight and low load, the H.E.A.T. Pile Drivers can also be switched to hanger weapons at any time, so there is a high demand for lightweight machines as sub-weapons for assassinations. They are frequently used as powerful anti-tank weapons worthy of the HEAT name. According to calculations, if you have two of these, you can slaughter four members of the enemy team (if you are skilled enough).
In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, the Parry Blades come back as the Pile Bunkers. Their standard attack is a simple lunging punch. The charged attack, similar to how Kojima Blades and H.E.A.T. Pile Drivers work, causes the AC to engage the Pile Bunkers' explosive charge for the spike with a short delay in order to deliver a short-ranged but devastating uppercut.
