Augmented Human C4-621, aka "621", is a mercenary Armored Core pilot active during the Coral War. 621 have undergone extensive biological and cybernetic operations which augmented piloting skills and limited ability to experience human emotions.[5][6] "C4" refers to the fourth generation of Augmented Humans, while "621" is a serial designation.
Under the broker Handler Walter, 621 travels to Rubicon 3 to operate as an independent mercenary — one not tied to the corporations, the local resistance group, or the other powers on Rubicon. Shortly after arrival, 621 takes the callsign "Raven" from an AC wreckage, and Walter's direction not only leads to forming connections with the planet's various clashing factions but also establishing a seemingly inexplicable bond with the mysterious Rubiconian Ayre.
Biography[]
621 is acquired by Walter sometime after a combat operation involving 617, 619, and 620. As 621 lays on an operating table, Walter promises to give 621 a reason to exist.[7][8]
Upon arrival on the Southern Belius area of Rubicon 3, 621 is tasked with scavenging from Armored Core wrecks a mercenary license that they can use as a cover identity on the planet. Eventually 621 finds one with the callsign "Raven."[9]
Later on, Walter negotiates a job to support the Balam Industries' Redguns unit in attacking the Rubicon Liberation Front-controlled Gallia Dam Complex. Under the supervision of the Redguns commander G1 Michigan, 621 joins G4 Volta and G5 Iguazu on the field as "G13," a callsign considered by the Redguns to be unlucky. As the operation starts, Walter insists on calling 621 by serial designation rather than G13 and tells them not to learn bad manners from the Redguns, who are ultimately impressed by 621's performance to the point that Michigan makes G13 an honorary callsign for 621.[10]
After 621's victory against a gargantuan RLF mobile resource base and Handler Walter's subsequent campaigning,[11] they are hired by the Arquebus Corporation to join the Vespers for Operation Wallclimber, an offensive against the RLF stronghold The Wall. Following V.II Snail's plan, 621 destroys key defenses and reaches the top, whereupon they are joined by Vespers squad leader V.IV Rusty in defeating the HA-T-102 JUGGERNAUT, thereby marking the operation a success. In a later private debriefing, Rusty — out of newfound camaraderie — confides to 621 that Arquebus intended to sacrifice independent mercenaries in the operation; the Vespers would enter only once the mercenaries had died clearing the way. 621's surprising survival has brought the attention of both the higher-ups and Rusty himself,[12] and gained them renown on Rubicon as the "Wallclimber."[3]
Later on, Walter instructs 621 to attack the Planetary Closure Administration-occupied Watchpoint Delta as part of a personal request by a "friend" of Walter's. In the ensuing engagement, 621 defeats the PCA security forces and the AC pilot Sulla, and inflicts damage to the facility that causes a surge of Coral unexpected by Walter and knocking 621 unconscious. Upon awakening, 621 inexplicably obtains an audial bond with Ayre, a disembodied Rubiconian who helps 621 gather their bearings then provides mission support for the subsequent battle against an AAP07: BALTEUS autonomous craft.[13]
On returning to base, 621 reveals the situation with Ayre to Walter, who dismisses it as a side effect of 621's enhancement surgery then shifts their attention to how the Coral surge from the Watchpoint is now heading towards Rubicon's Central Ice Field. At Ayre's request, she and 621 agree to maintain Contact as Ayre seeks to follow the struggle over Rubicon's Coral to its conclusion.[14]
Armored Cores[]
While the player can use a wide range of customized ACs, there are several presets in the game that may be considered 621's "canon" ACs. All use the FCS-G1/P01 FCS and the AG-J-098 JOSO generator.
LOADER 4[]
LOADER 4 is a tan and gray RaD Scout C-2000 AC used by 621 to enter Rubicon 3. It wields a Balam assault rifle, a Furlong missile launcher and a Takigawa pulse blade.

JAILBREAK[]
The JAILBREAK is a stripped-down and heavily-worn BAWS BASHO model AC only used in the mission "Escape." It has extremely poor AP, energy consumption, and stability due to being a wreck that was secretly restored to minimal functionality by Reuse and Development engineers. It is used by 621 to escape Institute City after they have been captured by Arquebus, and is discarded shortly after. Notably, the JAILBREAK in "Escape" possesses unique, unobtainable variants of the KIKAKU booster and JOSO generator, designed to perform even worse than their normal versions.

Gameplay[]
They are the player character of ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON. Like previous Armored Core player characters, they do not speak, which is explained in-game to be a result of their augmentation and a nod to the tradition.[5][6]
The player, by default, will have access to a starter AC schematic made of scout RaD parts used by Walter's other hounds in the game's story trailer; however, if the player had pre-ordered the game, then 621 receives the MELANDER C3 parts earlier than normal as an additional starter AC after completing the first mission "Illegal Entry."
Pre-release demo[]
Before the release of the game, players in select Japanese stores could only use three preset demo builds: a glossy-black Arquebus VP-4S bipedal model, a yellow RaD RC-2000 reverse-joint, and a Balam Industries MELANDER tetrapod. After the game launched, players were able to replicate the weapon and frame parts of the builds from pictures, but the inner parts could only be guessed.
On November 10, 2023, FromSoftware revealed the complete specifications of the three demo builds and provided Data Sharing ID codes for players to download them on all three platforms.[15]
These ACs are also used in the in-game training exercises provided by ALLMIND.

Emblems[]
Like in previous games, the player is provided numerous preset emblems unused by other entities in the story.
Others[]
Translation differences[]
- Iguazu refers to 621 as "Stray Dog" (野良犬) in the Japanese script, which is instead "Freelancer" in the English version.
- The English script changes Carla and Chatty's nickname for 621 from "Visitor" (ビジター) to "Tourist."
Trivia[]
- Their ALLMIND registration number upon taking the callsign Raven is Rb23, which belonged to the original Raven.[9]
- The choice of naming 621's AC "LOADER 4" is curious as the number 4 is generally seen as an unfavorable number in several Asian cultures, believed to bring bad luck or outright death, something 621 brings a lot of during their adventures in Rubicon 3.
- G1 Michigan's choice of assigning them the "G13" callsign is another ominous sign as the number 13 is typically associated with bad luck in western cultures.
- 621's goal of wanting to undo their surgery is a callback to Catarina from the Tower Blade City manga, whose brother wanted to raise enough funds to undo the surgery and save her life.
- 621 is the third protagonist to begin the story with human augmentation rather than gaining it later on, the first being Anatolia's Mercenary and the second being Strayed's Lynx. They are also the first character to potentially undo the surgery as implied during Bring Down the Xylem.

Speculation[]
The following information is "gray area" content — it may not be completely factual, and/or falls under YMMV territory.
- It is implied in-universe that the Tenderfoot, as a modified Melander C3 AC, was gifted to the Raven after their exemplary performance thwarting Index Dunham and destroying the Gallia Dam, alongside their recognition by the Michigan as the honorary Redguns member G13, hence the name.
- Many fans have interpreted the condition of 621 and other fourth generation Augmented Humans as 'catatonic,' likely due to the view we see of 621 in the first Armored Core IV: Fires of Rubicon trailer. However, their exact status is unknown.
- While 621 is not referred to as either male nor female in game, the song that plays during the Fires of Raven ending is listed as "The Man Who Burned It All", indicating that 621 is a male character.
