Briefing[]

One of our teams disappeared in the Alca Special Environment Zone
while conducting mining research. A pod loaded with minerals is also
missing.

A rescue mission should be dispatched immediately, but Disorder units
are common throughout the zone. Our rescue forces would not be able to
make it safely.

We've therefore decided to ask you to rescue the research team and
recover the pod. Please depart immediately.

Make the recovery of the pod a top priority. This will be the minimum
requirement for this mission. Please use extreme caution.

Communication A: "You’re close! Can you see us?"

Communication B: "What are you doing? Hurry up!!"

Communication A: "We made it...thanks Raven."

Communication B: "Hmm. Your skills still leave something to be desired."

Communication A: "Aaaargh!"

Communication B: "Aaaaargh!"

Nell: "I’m sorry...it appears we didn’t make it in time. Let’s at least recover the pod to complete the mission."

Walkthrough[]

It's best to speed through the area as there are a lot of Disorder Units and you don't have to kill them all. The first point is to drop down a long shaft with several flying Disorder Units attack you but they're not a problem. Upon hitting the ground, you wind up in a giant room and there are a lot of Disorder Units. Simply move through the rooms defeating the Disorder Units that get in your way. Eventually you find a room with a platform that transports you you to the other side but don't go to the end, jump off and walk along until you find a tile that doesn't look the same. Destroy this and drop down. At the end of the room is the mighty MOONLIGHT, which is the most powerful laser blade in the game. Come back up and head to the other end of the transit tunnel. After exiting this tunnel it is only a short distance to the research team. They are located in the last room to the left. If it took too long getting the MOONLIGHT, don't fret, Zio Matrix is only concerned with the contents of the vehicle, rather then the people themselves.

Optionally, the flow of the Disorder Units appearing in the first large chamber can be stopped by destroying the large device in the middle. This action will "seal" the nest, and the Disorder Units will no longer crawl out of the holes in the floor. There is little point in doing so however, unless you want to combine retrieving the MOONLIGHT blade with rescuing the scientists.

Trivia[]

You should equip a head with a bio sensor for this mission.
The strongest laser blade in the game the LS-MOONLIGHT is hidden in this mission. It is found in a secret hole during the horizontal elevator trip. Look for the circle that isn't like the others and shoot it. Then fall down the hole. The MOONLIGHT is at the bottom of the hole on an "altar"-like stone, in a small alcove in the rear of the cavern.
No matter how long you took reaching the scientists, as long they are alive once you find them, one of them will always make a detrimental comment about your skills. Aside from the apparent lack of tact from the rescued researcher, it is not possible to receive a positive comment instead, no matter how fast you are.
