Rim Fire is a Raven in Armored Core: Nexus and Armored Core: Last Raven.
Information[]
Rim Fire is the son of the Nexus Raven Pin Fire, and the successor and inheritor of the AC Bullet Life. Like his father, Rim Fire is cold cunning and have Human PLUS upgrade.[1] Rim Fire can be encountered in Nexus, if the player kills his father, Pin Fire. He will challenge the Raven in the Arena, piloting an AC nearly identical to his father's AC, save for the core & missile launchers. Rim Fire has hold his father in high regard. When Pin Fire was killed during the time of Nexus, Rim Fire would become obsessive with revenge on Nexus's protagonist (later hatred on every Ravens) and resulting in his insanity during the time of Last Raven.
During the time of Last Raven, Rim Fire is considered one of the most dangerous among all the Ravens due to his growing mental instability. He has been hunting down other Ravens without any regard for which side they belong to, simply for the purpose of his vengeance. Rim Fire operates on his own most of the time, but has been known to lure out various warlords on occasion for eliminate them later. He is later recruited by Zuben El Genubi and sending the setup mission to lure the player out.
Rim Fire's fate will depends on player's choices
- If the player takes the aforementioned mission, the player will faces both Zuben and Rim Fire and eliminate both of them, ending Rim Fire's quest of vengeance.
- If the player takes other missions, Rim Fire will kill Zuben off-screen and sending a threatening mail to player. He can be encounter again during Pulverizer Path 1. In the mission Defeat Evangel, Rim Fire tricked Allaince and lured the player into Area-R11 AC Garage again. The player then fight and defeat Rim Fire, ending his quest of vengeance once and for all.
If the player does not take missions that involved Rim Fire. He will be killed off-screen in most endings, presumably by Zinaida.

AC Bullet Life[]
Mid to heavyweight Quad-leg AC model with unique tan on black camouflage that has impressive close-range damage potential. Attacks launched by both machine guns simultaneously are truly devastating; its only true weakness is its lack of ammo, but the pilots skill makes up for this. He utilizes a large amount of ballistic weaponry, his most notable being twin FINGER hand mounted machine guns on either AC arm to release a phalanx burst of rounds to shred opponents. The AC is also capable of mid range combat with its chain gun and micro missiles. Ordinarily, Bullet Life would overheat in seconds with its GULL-KUJAKU combination, but the OP-INTENSIFY abilities render this a nonissue. Balanced defense rounds out this unit and makes it a very dangerous foe in close quarters combat.
Gameplay[]
Strategy[]
Rim Fire is an alpha strike enthusiast: he is going to try and kill you in an overwhelming attack of a storm of bullets up right in your face. To prevent this, ensure that you stay away from Rim Fire at all costs; the twin FINGERs will shred any AC that gets close. Sure they only have 250 rounds each, but their combined attack power is insurmountable. He also likes to attack with micro missiles plus extensions at longer ranges but these can be dodged. He also has twin SYLPH machine guns as a hanger part meaning that the punishment continues. Typically if one of the FINGERs runs out he'll switch over to the chain gun.
No matter which weapon he has active, Rim Fire remains a highly aggressive pilot, and will seek to maintain close range. This behaviour can be used against him, since it makes him a predictable target. Rim Fire cares more about staying right in front of you than dodging your attacks. A fast enough AC can backpedal quickly enough to dictate a mid-long range engagement, leaving Rim Fire out of his element. Do not become complacent though, since Bullet Life uses one of the most powerful boosters with its downsides negated thanks to the OP-I enhancements, so you will have to spend some energy yourself to ensure that Rim Fire does not catch with you. Once you have that taken care of, the fight is half done.
While it is possible to take him out in a tank, the FINGERs are hard to beat in a damage race. Grenade Launchers, Laser Canons and an EO core are a must to win. He's also very agile meaning that you need to be quick on the draw to be able to defeat him. A better option is to try and out flank him. Missiles like the CENTAUR are good as they're harder to intercept. Stay at longer ranges and he'll become less of a threat.
It is also possible to defeat him using all TITAN weapons. This was only attempted in the 2 on 1 fight in Last Raven along with an EO core but it does make it laughable of a challenge. Note this took a few tries due to his and his partner's dodging ability but it still was funny. You should try saving a Linear Cannon or Rifle for him due to their stun. He won't be able to shoot you with the twin FINGER machine guns. He will resort to mid-range and use his chain gun instead.
