The Silent Line is a series of defensive emplacements located on the surface with the assistance of satellite array to prevent access to the second Layered. The defensive line is not formally named, but after all survey teams sent to these areas lost contact after crossing an unmarked border, the "silent line" moniker was born.
All of the Silent Line's defenses are controlled by the IBIS, a counterpart to the Controller (DOVE in the Japanese version). During Silent Line: Armored Core, a Raven encounters multiple I-C003-IN and a weapons satellite defending the defensive line. The area is rendered inert later on with the destruction of the IBIS.
