Smash Dog is the unofficial fan name for a Special Forces AC that appears in Armored Core 2.
Overview[]
The Smash Dog is a hover-leg AC equipped with two identical pulse cannons on the back, pulse cannon weapon arms and an overboost core. Although equipped with an overboost core the unit is never seen using them in battle.

Strategy[]
This AC, along with its partner makes Zio City Suppression a rather annoying mission. They are quite fast and their arm weapons hit hard. They can be hard to hit due to their agility and this is compounded by the fact that there are two of them. However a fast hitting weapon makes them rather easy to deal with and the wide open area of Zio City makes their shots rather simple to dodge. After Stray Dog or Smash Dog is defeated, the other should fall soon enough.
Appearances[]
Appears only in the mission Zio City Suppression as an enemy. The unit works together with Stray Dog.
Trivia[]
- Name comes from a Japanese website and the translation is pending.
- The unit is shown to be able to fire both of its back mounted pulse cannons while moving, and it fires in the exact manner it does its weapon arms, albeit quicker. While the unit is never implied to have Human PLUS, it should be noted that mission ACs in this game tend to have unusual features that are not present in standard ACs.
- The unit’s plasma cannon weapons arms appear to inflict stun when hitting, a feature that isn’t present in the model available to the player, nor are they present in No. 1111 & Isotope’s versions, reinforcing the aforementioned point above.
