"Survey the Uninhabited Floating City" is a mission in Chapter 3 of ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON.

Walkthrough[]
The mission begins with the player arriving at the periphery of the Xylem, the Floating City. The city is covered in ECM fog, which greatly reduce player's visual and lock-on range, and make exploring the area difficult. Autonomous defenses are stationed in the city, mainly concentrated around the route to objectives.
Phase 1[]
The objective is to find and hack ECM fog control devices scattered in the city. The devices are not marked at the beginning, but they emit a cyan light and will be marked by objective markers when approached.
While ECM fog caused limited visual range, the route to the first two devices are indicated by beacons with glowing red light, and the last beacon encountered will be marked with warning marker for tracing back.
The first control device can be found after following four beacons from the mission starting point. Bomb drones can be seen patrolling nearby the device, and will attempt to perform suicide attack when detecting the player. Either by shooting them at any range or simply move fast can easily avoid their attacks.
After hacking the first device, the mission area expands and the player can progress further.
Near the second beacon after the first device, an oval shaped building can be seen with a dormant IA-24: KITE on top of it. The IA-C01G: AORTA AC part can be found on top of the building.
The second control device can be found circular platform, right next to the third beacon after the first device, with a KITE and several bomb drones guarding it.
The beacons then lead right for the next objective. Multiple KITEs of both plasma and laser variants are guarding the path, though the two plasma variants are active, player may use scan to find and destroy the dormant laser variants before they activate.
Player can see a KITE marked with LOGHUNT program if going further forward after moving from second to third beacon after the second device, on a circular platform similar to the second device.
The "Dolmayan's Writings (3)" data log can be found on the same platform.
A wreck of a quadcopter drone can be found after keep following the beacons. Hacking the drone progress the mission and gives the "The City of Xylem" data log. Collecting the data log will immediately trigger an encounter with three IA-27: GHOSTs armed with Energy Whips.
After destroying all GHOSTs, a marker will be set for the last control device. The mission progresses to phase 2 after the player hack the final device.
Phase 2[]
The objective is to destroy all incoming PCA forces.
A PCA squad comprised of an AH12: HC HELICOPTER and four sniper LCs arrive after the ECM fog is cleared. Five dormant KITEs around the area will be available for the player to activate as friendly units by hacking in this encounter, which will make the fight much easier.
The HC HELICOPTER is significantly stronger than the one encountered in Illegal Entry, as it is equipped with flares and has notably more AP, attitude stability and damage resistance to all types.
The mission is completed after all PCA crafts are destroyed.
Alternate
The alternate version of this mission replaces the normal version if the player has satisfied the conditions to unlock the Alea Iacta Est Ending.
The objective is to destroy AC ASTGHIK, piloted by Thumb Dolmayan, leader of the Rubicon Liberation Front. Thumb Dolmayan will appear after the HC HELICOPTER, and use his Assault Armor to instantly destroy it. The LCs and interactable KITEs will not appear in this variant of the mission.
The mission is completed after AC ASTGHIK is destroyed.
The "Dolmayan's Writings (4)" data log will be rewarded after completing this alternative mission.
