Briefing[]

Let's confirm the mission.

It appears the Rayleonard Company has been conducting experiments on a new type of NEXT underground at their Levanteer Facility.

We don't have any specifics, but our information suggests it's an extremely dangerous craft. Invade the facility and destroy the NEXT.

Tyrant, the NEXT that GA sent on ahead, hasn't yet returned. Exercise extreme caution.

Those are your orders.

I've got a bad feeling about this one. Be careful.

Special Debriefing[]

I remember seeing something that looked that NEXT in some of my father's documents.

The Prototype NEXT... an evil machine that kills its pilot with psychic stress beyond human tolerances, while lethally contaminating the surrounding environment. It's beyond man's control...

Its development was aborted, and everything destroyed. Would someone really try to dig that skeleton back up?

Overview[]

The player is sent into an underground facility with the task of destroying Rayleonard's experimental NEXT. There are some token guard forces at the bottom of the funicular, which can either be fought through or bypassed to reach the final chamber. In this area, three prototype NEXTs will attack the player, and must be destroyed to complete the mission.

Hard Mode Differences: The enemy NEXTs will now fire high-powered Kojima cannons instead of their standard laser rifles. The rest of the mission remains the same.
