Trance, known as Muse in Japanese (ミューズ), is a Raven in Armored Core: Nine Breaker. He is ranked 5th in the Arena.
Information[]
The pilot of this unit prefers aerial combat, but has also taken into account the need for adaptability. And while he doesn't excel in any one area, he has few weak points.
AC Terpsichore[]
Terpsichore is a midweight bipedal AC equipped with ECM makers, a laser rifle, a shotgun, a pursuit-missile launcher, a small missile launcher, energy refill extensions and an overboost core. The unit is also equipped with OP-INTENSIFY. The unit is also overweight, but this is a non issue thanks to the aid of OP-I.
Strategy[]
Trance is no pushover. As the information blurb says, this Raven pilots a surprisingly balanced AC build and likes to go into the air. Don’t let his AC loadout fool you, he can dish out much more damage than he seems and is not going to stay overweight for long.
Trance will start off by firing his pursuit missile pods before dropping them to engage in direct combat, and this act will also relieve Terpsichore enough to leave the overweight status. Do not let him score a direct hit with the pursuit missile pods, as this attack will cause heavy damage, comparable to a large missile. After spending and dropping the pursuit missile launcher, Trance is going actively attack you with his shotgun while alternating between his laser rifle & small missile, so it’s advised to keep a distance from him.
For a midweight bipedal, Terpsichore is somewhat lacking in mobility, so rapid fire weapons with adequate offensive power such as machine guns or his own laser rifle are effective against it. Missiles aren’t recommended to use against it as it does have decent AMS performance, not to mention this AC is equipped with the missile lock-on jamming optional part (KISSYOH) and Trance can dodge missiles surprisingly well. Due to his varied weaponry and decent ammo stores, Trance can put up a protracted fight at most ranges while having the mobility to switch between them easily. Therefore, it is in your best interest to keep a pressure on him from the onset of the match. If you can dodge his initial pursuit missiles and trade decent damage to his AC, you will be in a good spot to prevail and win.
Do note that Terpsichore has the JIREN extensions which will allow it to recover energy, so try not to lose sight of it, as Trance has the tendency to go airborne while overboosting.

Trivia[]
- Terpsichore was one of the 9 muses, and the goddess of dance and chorus.
- This is further reflected in his Japanese name, Muse (ミューズ, myu-zu).
- The overall design of the Terpischore bears a similar resemblance to the Aestevalis from Martian Successor Nadesico.
