"Tunnel Sabotage" is a mission in Chapter 3 of ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON.
In-game information[]
Combat zone: Central Ice Field - Engebret Tunnel Objective: Infiltrate Facility/Destroy Target
|
Objectives[]
- Destroy the old device in the facility's center
- Escape the underground tunnel
Walkthrough[]
The mission begins with the player arriving outside the Engebret Tunnel, where PCA forces are patrolling inside. The tunnel itself is a linear passage with a few short branches, and falling into the depths will cause out of bound. The mission is separated into two phases.
Phase 1[]
The objective is to reach the end of the tunnel, and destroy the sensor device within. The location of the objective is indicated by marker.
Patrolling PCA MTs are encountered immediately after descending into the tunnel, before reaching the first objective marker. The tunnel's main structure is visible after passing the first marker, a deep cave with multiple support beams crossing through and MTs and repair drones scattering around the place.
Going left on the topmost support beam will lead the player to a area guarded by several MTs and a Sniper LC marked by LOGHUNT program.
The IA-C01W1: NEBULA AC part can be found behind the sniper LC, on top of a platform with large machinery.
More MTs and repair drones guards deeper section of the tunnel, and two quadcopter drones patrol the air. At the final section before the second objective marker, a large number of repair drones are hanging on the ceiling waiting for ambush, with 4 of them equipped with electrical field generator.
The target device can be seen when arriving at the second marker. The device is protected by an indestructible shield, and the player must move inside to destroy the target.
Destroying the device will trigger a Coral surge, which constantly cause damage and inflict "EN Anomaly" status effect, which greatly increase AC's EN capacity and recharge rate. The mission progresses into phase 2 after the incident.
Phase 2[]
The objective is to escape the tunnel alive.
The environment of Coral surge will keep damage the player's AC, and large currents of Coral will burst from below the tunnel, which will cause massive damage when touched. The objective markers will indicate the path out, though it may not be the optimal route. It is recommended to move along the support beams since this can avoid the currents even in first encounter.
A few PCA reinforcement units will appear in this phase, including an canister cannon LC near the tunnel entrance.
The mission is completed after the player exits the tunnel.
