Acquisition[]
- The VE-40A can be purchased from the Parts Shop for 570,000 COAM after completing the "Destroy the Ice Worm" mission for the first time.
Characteristics[]
This heavyweight core part notably has a very high generator output adjustment, allowing the user to pair it with energy-focused generators like the VE-20C and VP-20D to mount large quantities of Arquebus' signature heavy energy weapons. However, for a heavy core it is somewhat vulnerable, as it lacks a degree of attitude stability.
Users[]
- V.V Hawkins (RECONFIG)
- V.II Snail (OPEN FAITH)
Notes[]
- With the highest AP value of any Core part in the game, plus the highest Anti-Energy Defense stat, the VE-40A makes an ideal choice for durability-focused builds with an emphasis on reducing damage from energy weapons. It also has a very high Generator Output Adjustment stat that, in conjunction with high output generators, allows for easy fitting of high-energy AC parts and weapons. In turn though, its low Booster Output Adjustment and its heavy weight severely penalizes an AC's potential mobility.

Trivia[]
- The VE-40A bears a great resemblance to classic heavy cores from previous Armored Core games, namely the XCH-01 from first-generation Armored Core, the ZCH-GR/1 from second-generation Armored Core.
